The old stuff was okay, but I save a few dimes this way! I like to take good care of my mouth, and so I typically ensure that I have the proper implements for the job. Let's use this morning as an example. There I was, set to give the ol' chompers the scrubbing of a lifetime, and I thought, "Sure, I have a million dollar smile and all... but my toothpaste does not need to cost the same!" The ADA endorses all manner of bargain basement brands as well, it turns out! So, I sent my dog to the corner store (mask securely in place) to pick up a cut-rate brand of chomper gel! It's that striped kind!

Anyway, long story short, the mouth couldn't even tell the difference! Minty fresh, shiny finish.

And the incisors sparkle like the top of the Chrysler Building! o_O

I know!!!!!

And I've done it a-gain! Least this time I cauterized the taste buds with some scalding hot joe!!!!! o_O

LOL!

Order of play:

1) brush teeth
2) 1st cup off coffee (1/3 half and half since we are "sharing")
3) breakfast with 2nd cup off coffee ... toothpaste taint long gone

Hope this helps. You can do a #2 between 2 and 3 ... but I guess that is too much sharing.

fyi ... I don't think becoming flexible on bargain toothpaste is a good idea. Next thing you know it's cheap underwear ... and that doesn't end well. There are some creature comforts you should hang onto.

Gum improvement toothpaste is the tops in cost! You get a small quantity and it offered in two different brands made by the same company with the same ingredients in 3 different purposes too by each brand. Example, gum care, sensitive gums, preventive gum care, etc...

Me thinks you have bigger problems than finding the right toothpaste. :-D

Had a neighbor, once, who worked for Nestle chocolate.
He said if you buy the store brand chocolate morsels, you
will be getting either Nestle or Ghirardelli because there are only so many
companies out there that can meet the need.

I'm sure the same principle goes for toothpaste or almost anything else.

Fairly certain you're on the money with that.

There's always some fresh gimmick to squeeze out a few more bucks from consumers, but by and large they "share a gene." :)

Dog slobber can be something of an x-factor, but the masks do mitigate that some.

Since I changed to electric toothbrush I found out that I use so much less toothpaste! You don't really need a lot of toothpaste on the toothbrush! The electric toothbrush's head is so small and very effective!
