Coming from a Djokovic fan, I want to congratulate Nishikori!

Okay I think I am over my sadness that Djokovic lost now. Time to fully congratulate Kei! He played an outstanding match and I honestly didn't think he had it in him to beat Nole after two tough 5-setters against Raonic and Wawrinka. Nevertheless, he showed his talent and his underrated mental resilience today. I was impressed he was able to physically hang out there in grueling conditions close to 100 degrees Farenheit. He definitely was playing some outrageous tennis today, and even though Novak wasn't nearly at his best, it is no laughing matter to have comprehensively outplayed the best player in the world. Best of luck Kei Nishikori, Asia is cheering for you on Monday!

In the meantime, I think it is time for me to take a hiatus from Talk Tennis for a bit. I will be cheering for the remaining three players in the draw, but I probably won't be posting much for a while.

Djoko hasn't been the same since he got married. I'm starting to consider the possibility that his pro career is done and dusted. Shame. Among the younger (already established) guys, Nishi is my favorite, so I'm pretty happy he's the one who gets to make his mark here. Hysteria time for Japan I'm sure. I will cheer for Kei in the final.

Hey, what do you mean "Asia is cheering for you" ? Do you think Asia is ONE COUNTRY ?

Do you think all of Asia cheers if Li Na or Sania play, or reach a final ?

I don;t know how to explain this, but perhaps Asia is a bit like Europe. If Djokovic reaches a final, all of Europe does not cheer.
