I am thinking of getting the synthetic gut

Gosen OG Sheep Micro Super 17 string.

How come the white strings packaging is different from the natural colour packaging?

Also which is better Gosen OG Sheep Micro Super 17 or Gosen OG Sheep Micro 17.

Are any of the above same as this. Gosen OG Sheep Micro 17 330' String Reel?
Some people say its non-generic or something like that. What does that mean.

Any help will do thanks.

Has anyone tried Wilson Extreme Synthetic gut?

Lazy-ton Hewitt,
Try the search button. There's quite a lot of info here.

Or better yet, start another eighteen threads!

i have done a search but i cant find a specific answer

Lleyton,
Odd, I was able to get ten pages of threads on Gosen synthetic gut. Maybe it's your keyboard? (I've noticed yours doesn't have any punctuation or capital letters.)

The regular Micro is a little better than Prince Synthetic Gut. The Super and Super JC play much more "crisper" than the regular Micro. The materials (i.e. quality of the nylon) used in the Super (and also the Super JC) are of higher quality than the regular Micro....

I find the OG Super worth the small additional price. More power, reslience and just a better string. Looks identical, but is not.

Exactly. No matter what the conclusion is for you, the generic reel is an amazing deal, no matter how you look at it. IMO, if I had to choose the better string, i'd say the non-generic is better. It's more comfortable, powerful, and lively. If you ask me which string i stock, the answer is Generic. That's how small the difference is in my mind. I definitely prefer the non-generic, 330' reel(s), but IMO, the savings trump the performance difference every time.

supposedly micro super holds tension a little better than plain micro

and micro super JC is like a micro super with a slight spin texture that grabs the ball.
JC16g gives me crazy spin in my RDX mid. Everyone asks me how I get so much topspin. Most of it is technique, but I get a little extra from the JC.

lleyton, you obviously didnt search, there's plenty of information. so dont lie and say you did.

now on the strings, the micro super is supposedly the best of those 2, and sheep JC is supposedly the best of all 3. so the only way for you to find what you like (as always), is to try them both, like 2 sets of each or whatever.

you are the laziest person ive ever seen in my life :p

I can’t believe that you all would go to all the trouble to read this thread only to chastise the poster for asking a question you all don’t want to read. That seems backwards. Here’s an idea: if you see a thread you don’t want to read . . . don’t.

you obviously dont understand this...

here's an idea: read all of the other thread lleyton hewitt starts all of which can be answered my searching. yes we all do it sometimes, but he does it LOTS of times, ALL the time.

here's another idea for you: find out what your talking about before you talk about it

You seem to be on a common theme which gets tiring. I'll let the poster take up for himself but good grief.

Yes, we've had this discussion before about the different versions of Gosen synthetic gut (Micro, OG, Sheep, Super, JC, generic), but something we haven't talked about is the packaging. I've seen lots of different sets and reels of "Gosen OG-Sheep" for sale on e*bay and there seems to be lots of different packaging configurations for the same string. Makes me wonder if a lot of those auctions are really genuine Gosen or just some generic string that the seller is trying to represent as a brand name. Does Gosen really sell the same string in several different packaging formats?

I'll let the poster take up for himself but I do get tired of all the "hall monitors" on these boards.

sorry i was a bit harsh, but its so annoying. especially when the same person does it repeatedly, over and over and over and over again... oh well, i guess ill stop mentioning it to him, because everyone tells him.

but i still say you should find out what your talking about before you start talking about it ;)
