When I see Fed is playing against anybody I clearly understand he is for 1 head higher than Nadal in tennis.

When I see he is playing against Nadal I clearly understand he is "trembling", he is afraid to win Nadal ( even leading in tie-break 3:0 !!! And this happens with FEDERER !!!).

Some commentators say he has got " complex of Nadal" and in order to get rid of this complex he must win him a few times in a row on clay. Anyhow, now as the score is 4:1 in favour of Nadal some people say they know in tennis much more than amateurs like me and that Nadal is simply stronger on clay.

What do u think in this regard ?

I think it's partly because Nadal is so much younger. I remember during the Australian Open, he said he was so nervous to play against Baghdatis because he was such an overwhelming favorite and Baghdatis is just an up and coming junior, it would almost be embarrassing to lose to him.

Actually both are true. Federer has developed some kind of
mental pattern and Nadal is actually better on clay.

But the key is the match-up. Federer may be much better
players over-all but the match-up does not favor Federer at all.

He'll continue to have problem with Nadal on clay and even
faster courts.

Nadal is just a better clay court player then Roger. Roger seems to have trouble with his style too but on top of that Nadal is better then him on clay.

Federer will just have to keep plugging away until one day he beats Nadal on clay, until then Federer will dominate the game and continue his historic career!

I also agree that both are true.

Nadal is just a better player on clay. He also has that western grip with that huge spin on the ball. Sure Federer can handle it but it does add a little to his disadvantage when he's on clay (nadal's home grounds).

I think its a little too early to comment on the Nadal - Federer rivalry. Federer has a history of figuring out his opponents. He used to have terrible records against Agassi, Nalbandian, Henman and Hewitt. He now owns all of them. So Federer might just turn it around against Nadal. Should be fun to watch.

The problem is that Federer can't stay within his comfort zone and beat Nadal because Nadals stock forehand goes high to Federers backhand. Federer needs to start taking the ball earlier on his backhand. This means he also has to approach the net because he'll be caught in no mans land if the takes the backhand early and tries to backpedal to the baseline.

Not sure he's scared of Nadal...yet....but if he loses say, 2 more times against him on a hardcourt, then he's definately Federer's 'boogeyman'.

Other than that, Nadal's streak on clay would account for anybody in tennis history, not just Federer.

I understand it is not good, but I write in order to keep the thread in the first page in order to let people to vote.

The result is paradoxal still. I see that people not only hate Fed but also underestimate him.
