I've heard he uses a 4 1/4 with 2 overgrips.

the skin feel is 1.55mm thin like an overgrip.
Maybe he has smaller hands than you?
That's just what I've read here and I put it out there. (Not that I care what base grip he uses.) I know how thick they are. I use them. And 1.55mm is not quite thin like an overgrip. Overgrips are in the 0.50+/-mm thickness range.

Yea Cup8489's right. I've held it before, plus he wears his overgrips out pretty bad, where u can see holes and tears in the Overgrip. or maybe he was too lazy to change it lol

fit the index finger of your non-hitting hand in the space between your ring finger and palm while holding the racquet in an eastern forehand grip.
All of that "use this grip size based on these measurements" is kind of goofy. Use the grip size you find most comfortable, and most facilitating to your game style. Nadal uses a small grip so he can whip the racquet around easier. From the pictures I've seen his hands are actually quite large, and they seem to dwarf the handle. He uses it for his game style...
Also, I've played everything and don't really find Babolat grips to run large at the moment. I use a Babolat number 2 grip, and 3 from anyone else feels too big.
