Does over-grip becomes more dirty than basic-grip ?

I always put an over-grip over my basic-grip. This allows me to play with the size of my grip but also makes it easy the replace it with a clean new grip when the old one becomes too dirty.

I use light colors for my over-grip, like white or yellow. You can see it becomes very dirty after intensively playing tennis, so time to replace.

Now I wonder whether basic-grip becomes less dirty than over-grip. Basic-grip is almost always black. It is also very durable so it is hard to conclude whether it is dirty.

If basic-grip goes less dirty than over-grip then it might be better to use one basic-grip for each stick at the start of every new season. Right now I spent fortunes on over-grips. :(

It might last an extra 3-5 times of hitting to get dirty so I suggest u stick with the overgrip.

Your base grip gets dirty but eventually it will wear away with alot of play. I'd rather just keep it intact by using an overgrip. You can always throw and wrap a new overgrip easily.

Dirtiness doesn't really affect the overgrip that much aside from it looking ugly, imo at least. I usually replace the overgrip when it either becomes so full of sweat it feels different, or it starts to wear too deeply in the spot my thumb rests. You would also have a smaller grip size with just a grip as opposed to grip + overgrip. And I personally feel that the basic grips feel different than leather + overgrip as well.

You could also just get a black overgrip, the Yonex Supergrap in black doesn't show dirt.

Well, that is part of the question. Of course black overgrip becomes as dirty as white overgrip. However I want to know whether basicgrip becomes as dirty as overgrip. Basicgrips are always black (should ring a bell) and are rather durable so hard to draw conclusions form that.

I think I'll stick to my current situation where I use white overgrips which I have to replace on a a regular basis.
