DR 98 Grip sizing

I read some comments and couldn't find a consensus.

If I am not planning to change the replacement grip (which I guess is thin in Yonex), does the DR 98 run true to size or should I size down? If it runs big, is it by a full size or half size?

I normally play with 4 3/8.

Thanks.

Measure your grip you like. If it's less than 113mm, which is what my 3 SV98+ are with skin feel (which is supposedly thinner than the original Yonex grip). I'd estimate with the original grip, it'll be 114-5, which is actually 4 1/2. Hope this helps.

With stock grip it is true to size. Stay with 3/8

Wasn’t the AI infamous for the too big grips and one had to go down a size? I’d think the DR would be the same?

Skin feel is actually thicker than paper thin Yonex grips

So right now the vote is roughly 2-2... LOL. See what I mean.

Gotta decide within the next 4 hours since there's a once a year flash sale... would love some concrete info.

It should be safer to go with a smaller size in case you ever have to change the original replacement grip.

I have dr's (and several other yonex and prince rackets in size 4 3/8 and 4 1/4) and with leather the dr's are considerably thicker than the Prince ones, or even the tour g's and duel g's in the same grip size with the same leather replacement grips.

Since I always get leather in them, for the same grip, yonex is always thicker than prince, some models more than others.

Worst case scenario, you can always find a way to easily build up the grip size and still feel the bevels, but the other way around and retain some level of comfort, not so much..

Actually if you look at the specs of the Excel Pro synthetic leather grip that comes with the SV and DR series anyways, it's 1.6mm. Skin Feel is 1.55mm. I also measured a stock grip on my newer stick, and it's 113ishmm.

Well, there are definitive measurements given to you from a SV98+ with stock and non-stock grips. If you measure your own stick, I think it's as concrete as taking a vote from an internet forum! haha
