i was debating that i may just have to buy an eagnas machine due to my wallet. so i was thinking between the flex 940/840 and the eag 300. i was wondering which you machine you guys would recommend. all i want is quality stringjobs, with a durable machine that will last at least 4 years.

all help is appreciate

I think that it is worth the extra $50 to get the 6-pt mounting on the 940, but the decision is ultimately yours. I think there is probably less to go wrong with the 300 though, if you were concerned about things going wrong and dealing with customer service.

which machine would give me better results? im leaning towards the 840 because of its portability. however i really like the eag 300 in terms of specs. its a dead tie.

thanks for input again.

I agree with YULitle, the 6 point mount is better on the Flex but the glide bars on the 300 can be faster and have less parts to break. I have the Flex 940, Flex 840 & the 860 (fixed clamps with glide bars). You might want to check out the 860. It costs $50 more but it has the 6 point mounting like the Flex but the ease of use of the 300's glide bar with fixed clamps. I string over 400 frames a year with them and the 860 gives me less problems then the Flex.

Overall, they are good machines for the money. I did replace the cranks with the Wise 2086 tension heads.

I own a 920 which is similar to a 940. The crank mechanism is the same for all eagnas machines. Difference here is the mount (6 vs. 2) and clamps. The 300 will be faster to string the clamps requires 1 action vs. 2 on the 940 (1 to clamp on strings and 2 to lock the base clamps). I personally do not like the cone base clamps and upgraded to spring assisted base clamps and is quicker and easier to use.
