Not like in the first week where it was pretty low bouncing. Feel Federer will have to be judicious of using drop shots. Nadal will surely be having enough time to retrieve it considering the slower surface.

I will be honest, I have been watching these two since 05, and I have this strong feeling that there is simply no way Fed can beat Rafa. I see it being 4 or 5 sets, but no special stuff like A017 (that was a once in a lifetime match as far as feelings go). I just have not seen a realistic argument where Fed prevails. @Otacon , I commend your positivity, but I know how this will play out, and it is not good. Fed needed 5 sets and a crazy comeback to beat Rafa on a much faster AO surface... almost 3 years ago. I have been sick to my stomach for two days, and come Friday, I dont even know if FBPD will even go into effect.

Even with his improvement through each match, Fed still has not found the backhand. If his serve is even slightly off its a straights.

Who wouldn't be? I get Fed is great and clearly capable, but I also need to prepare myself for reality. My tennis brain says it should be even match, my eyes say Rafa will win, my heart says Fed, and my luck says "I have given you enough already."

McEnroe and Gilbert addressed this yesterday and the bad news for us Fed fans is that the ball is bouncing higher the second week. We could see that yesterday in the Nadal-Sam match, Rafa's balls were jumping up to Sam's lower chest, which means they will be at Roger's shoulders tomorrow. Tommy Haas also said this, "I would be really shocked if Roger could win here once again. For me, however, Novak Djokovic is one of the favorites. Rafa is playing good too. Ball bounces high. But in the semifinals, I would prefer Roger."

I'll be nervous all day, will sleep poorly tonight and wake up with dread. But it was the same at AO 2017 and that turned out to be the greatest moment EVER watching tennis, at least for me. It's so important for Roger to start strong, unlike the Kei match, and take the first set. The first set is absolutely huge for Fed. I think it's 60/40 for Nadal, so many would say it's basically a coin toss, and that's being charitable.

Yeah, AO17 was a dream. Watched it at my friends house, both of us are diehard Fed fans, and the fifth set was a roller coaster of emotions that I'll never forget.
Coming to tomorrow, the slow conditions and current form give Rafa the edge, but you just never know.

I thought his BH looked damned good in sets 2, 3 and 4 v. Nishi.
Rafa has played mugs and 1 decent player, Querrey, whose serve wasn't as good that match as it has been the entire tournament.
Couldn't see the QF and won't be able to watch the SF as well. Surprised to see so many pessimists here - no matter how slow it is, it's still grass. Yee of little faith...
Going into the tournament, Rog has been the 2nd favorite to win. I haven't seen anything that should change this sentiment, since Rog went through his draw fairly convincingly, and Nole is stepping it up each match. Rafa - who cares?
He is going to serve Roger away? I doubt it. He is the elite grass returner? Never was. He'll hit it deep and keep Rog away from the baseline? Not happening. Compared to Nole, Rog playing Rafa on grass is a picnic if you ask me. We all know what Nadal is going to do, and if the top spin BH holds decent enough, Rog can win. If it doesnt, he'll probably lose. Just the way it is.

As a tennis fan though, this is the match I live for. It gives the opportunity for an AO17 experience. This is why deep down I want Fed to win and play Djoker. I want Fed to beat the best, and that's how he sees it too.

This. I saw the Nadal Querrey highlights. Safe to say Fed has a damn better serve than Querrey. Just avoid Nadal’s BH at any cost.
No strong FS means Nadal get control of that point. Then it’s RG SF part 2.
Fed getting tentative is my only worry.
