H O L D Y O U R D A M N S E R V E .Fed needs a good serving day tomorrow, otherwise it will be extremely tough.Time to avenge that 2008 loss Roger, so hold your damn serve
I will be honest, I have been watching these two since 05, and I have this strong feeling that there is simply no way Fed can beat Rafa. I see it being 4 or 5 sets, but no special stuff like A017 (that was a once in a lifetime match as far as feelings go). I just have not seen a realistic argument where Fed prevails. Friday will be rough, especially if RBA beats Djoker too.Fed needs a good serving day tomorrow, otherwise it will be extremely tough.Time to avenge that 2008 loss Roger, so hold your damn serve

Hehe, I'm a 'TAKE IT!' guy.during any BP he has CONVERT!!!
Hehe, I'm a 'TAKE IT!' guy.
'Second serve return, meekly dumped into the net; absolutely classic.'its usually convert followed by a few expletives followed by omg how many do you need

@Otacon , I commend your positivity, but I know how this will play out, and it is not good. Fed needed 5 sets and a crazy comeback to beat Rafa on a much faster AO surface... almost 3 years ago. I have been sick to my stomach for two days, and come Friday, I dont even know if FBPD will even go into effect.
Yup. And fans of his opponents still put massive stock in a win over him.One knows how great Federer really is is when not even one month short of his 38 birthday the man makes his fans excited about his chances and whatnot.
Just don't see it, Rafa is playing at a high level with a much improved serve. Fed has the courts in his head and I have not seen him as confident this tourney. This is one view.
Another is that he held his own in tornadic conditions in Nadal's stronghold.
After a three-year absence from the surface.
At nearly 73 years of age.
Seriously, prior to that match he had Nadal's number in five consecutive matches. There is plenty about which to be optimistic here.
Moreover, consider the buoying effect of the Centre Court crowd. The GOAT in winter? Ear drums will rupture, my man.
Who else can create FBPD? I mean, he is entertaining in his losses and easy wins. Or maybe I just have emotional problems...One knows how great Federer really is is when not even one month short of his 38 birthday the man makes his fans excited about his chances and whatnot.
Who wouldn't be? I get Fed is great and clearly capable, but I also need to prepare myself for reality. My tennis brain says it should be even match, my eyes say Rafa will win, my heart says Fed, and my luck says "I have given you enough already."Really nervous about tomorrow
McEnroe and Gilbert addressed this yesterday and the bad news for us Fed fans is that the ball is bouncing higher the second week. We could see that yesterday in the Nadal-Sam match, Rafa's balls were jumping up to Sam's lower chest, which means they will be at Roger's shoulders tomorrow. Tommy Haas also said this, "I would be really shocked if Roger could win here once again. For me, however, Novak Djokovic is one of the favorites. Rafa is playing good too. Ball bounces high. But in the semifinals, I would prefer Roger."is the ball still staying low and how much would that help fed?
Yeah should be 50-50, and I'd normally favour Fed, but this year...idk.Who wouldn't be? I get Fed is great and clearly capable, but I also need to prepare myself for reality. My tennis brain says it should be even match, my eyes say Rafa will win, my heart says Fed, and my luck says "I have given you enough already."
I'll be nervous all day, will sleep poorly tonight and wake up with dread. But it was the same at AO 2017 and that turned out to be the greatest moment EVER watching tennis, at least for me. It's so important for Roger to start strong, unlike the Kei match, and take the first set. The first set is absolutely huge for Fed. I think it's 60/40 for Nadal, so many would say it's basically a coin toss, and that's being charitable.Really nervous about tomorrow
Yeah, AO17 was a dream. Watched it at my friends house, both of us are diehard Fed fans, and the fifth set was a roller coaster of emotions that I'll never forget.I'll be nervous all day, will sleep poorly tonight and wake up with dread. this thread right here on twitter kind of makes me feel better but its still always going to be a match up that drives me insaneYeah, AO17 was a dream. Watched it at my friends house, both of us are diehard Fed fans, and the fifth set was a roller coaster of emotions that I'll never forget.
Coming to tomorrow, the slow conditions and current form give Rafa the edge, but you just never know.
This is hilarious. And so legit. It's a disorder, alright.Federer Break Point Disorder?
THIS is why one roots for this guy. Great capture. Too bad, all of the current lot, apart from not winning, look like lumberjacks..... which is probably why they don't win.
I thought his BH looked damned good in sets 2, 3 and 4 v. Nishi.Just don't see it, Rafa is playing at a high level with a much improved serve. Fed has the courts in his head and I have not seen him as confident this tourney.
Even with his improvement through each match, Fed still has not found the backhand. If his serve is even slightly off its a straights.
Haha, I will more than likely have a heart attack one way or the other. If he wins, it will be much like AO17, shock and screaming. The macro of FBPD in AO17 and the macro when the final point was challenged.I'm excited, will sleep like a baby, will be stressed-out during the match, normal life will resume when it's over.
and as a sidenote, win or lose - as soon as the match is over, I will utter the same expletive just with difference intonation depending on the circumstance.
Haha, hope your good deed is a boost for tomorrow's win and not a gift for us to feel better about a loss.I sense significant anxiety amidst the faithful here in GOATland.
Perhaps I might be of some assistance.
After all... tomorrow's another day.
Folks are welcome to keep a-handwringerin'...Haha, hope your good deed is a boost for tomorrow's win and not a gift for us to feel better about a loss.
In those days I was a big Rafa fan, when he did this face I had some unkind words for the boy. Unfortunately I can't repeat them here.I think we all agree, this is the face we all want to see:
Forget records, I would rather Rafa win every single time if he plays djoker in the final. In those days I was a big Rafa fan, when he did this face I had some unkind words for the boy. Unfortunately I can't repeat them here.
See?!As a tennis fan though, this is the match I live for. It gives the opportunity for an AO17 experience. This is why deep down I want Fed to win and play Djoker. I want Fed to beat the best, and that's how he sees it too.
Since I could give a sheet about slam count, so would I. I still HATE seeing Rafa lose (unless it's to Fed). I'm certain if it's Rafa v. Djoker I'll be screaming my lungs out for Mr. Ombelieebable.Forget records, I would rather Rafa win every single time if he plays djoker in the final.

The third one already didLet's hope the 4th meeting doesn't ruin the trilogy.
And thereafter, the game formerly known as "tennis" was consigned to "non-contact combat."The third one already did
As slow as the surface is, it's still grass and If Fed plays his best tennis, he wins regardless of what Nadal does. Fed beat him many times on slow hard.
