NO JOB FOR COURIER: Jim Courier didn't get an invitation to work at this year's French Open.

After providing c o u r t s i d e commentary for Australian TV during the Australian Open, he said no networks asked him to work at Roland Garros.

``Maybe they think I don't know anything about clay-court tennis,'' Courier told French sports daily L'Equipe.

Courier won the French Open in 1991 and 1992.

Thanks for that bit Marius. He deserves to do commentary at the French Open. Courier has the clay court credentials. I thought he was good during the Australian Open and other events he commentated. Maybe he should have took another commentator's place....

Agree, but at the AO he managed to get the focus on himself a little too much IMO.
That said, the Aust. commentary team at the FO could do with him. Stolle (former FO winner) seems to be struggling and the younger two lack some experience.
Too highly priced for Aust Foxtel (also struggling ;) )would be my guess.

Which Stolle do Aussie TV use, Sandon or Fred?
Fred, and noticed he is hesitating, stumbling over words. Woodforde has to help him out occasionally. He's about 67??

He used to work for ESPN in the U.S. He was still excellent at that point, but
his last work there was 8 years ago. Alot may have changed, and he might be getting a bit too old to do that kind of work well. Not everybody can be a Dick Button. :)
