Frame stiffness rating?

Ok, I searched to see if I could find the definative answer, but how exaclty does stiffness rating work? Looking at specs on various racquets, the stiffness can be confusing. A flexpoint prestige has the same stiffness rating as the flexpoint 10, how is that? I was under the impression that a players racquet like the prestige was flexy, but both mentioned have a rating of 65. Am I not understanding the stiffness issue?

Thanks in advance!

The handle is constrained and the racquet is pulled down at the tip. The stiffness is determined by how much the end bends downward at the reference force.

Either the technician taking the readings is having a bad day or it probably is a typo. The Flexpoint 10 is easily 2 or 3 units more stiff than any flexpoint prestige. Sometimes a frame that has a stiff hoop will have spot that gives a lot more compared to the rest of the frame such as the Wilson Triads and that will give out a misleading low/flexy reading. Your arm will be the best judge of how much flex these racquets really have. I have hit a number of racquets with a listed flex of about 66 and they vary from being really boardy to cushy soft.

Maybe there is really a lot of flex happening at those flexpoint holes in the Flexpoint 10:confused:
