French Open womens seeds

egn did this for the men so I am doing it for the women. What would be your preview report on the womens seeds and how they will fare in Roland Garros. This is a strange situation with the heavy tournament favorite Justine Henin not even seeded in the top 16. Serena, Venus, or any of the top seeds could have the misfortune to draw her as early as the 3rd round. It could also be a misfortune for Henin if she draws too many of those kind of players, as while she would be favored vs any opponent a number of really tough opponents could drain her before she wins 7 matches, especialy as she may not be back at her best just yet. Anyway here goes:

1. Serena Williams- umm hard to say. I have a feeling she might last until about the quarters then go out to someone in 3 sets just like last year. I predict if she somehow plays Henin she will lose. If she plays Jankovic it could go either way since Serena is a tougher slam performer. Could even be in the final or win but I am predicting quarters.

2. Venus Williams- I dont know. She could go out in the 3rd round again, but she might do a bit better this year. I dont think anything beyond the quarters though.

3. Caroline Wozniacki- not really in form now. A bit injured and overplayed. Clay should suit her grinding game, but maybe it is also bad for her as she has so little power she needs a faster court. I am saying she crashes out early, 3rd round around.

4. Jelena Jankovic- if she doesnt end up in Henin's half I am thinking she reaches the final. Only wins the title if she avoids Henin.

5. Elena Dementieva- seems out of form now. Still could make quarters, semis, or even final if she gets a good draw and gets hot. I am thinking round of 16 around though.

6. Svetlana Kuznetsova- crashes out 1st or 2nd round and takes free fall in rankins.

7. Sam Stosur- her chances are hyped but can she really beat any of the big guns if she plays them. She was even beaten up by Venus on clay last week. Quarters or semis if she is away from Justine I guess. She could also be in the finals if she avoids Justine. Dont see her winning it though.

8. Agnieszka Radwanska- might push her way to the quarters or be blasted away before that.

9. Dinara Safina- 2nd or 3rd round loss. Another who is about to plunge further downwards in the rankings. In her case has already taken a big fall.

10. Victoria Azarenka- somewhere between 3rd round or quarters.

11. Li Na- early loss probably.

12. Maria Sharapova- first week exit. Will drop some points here as she made quarters last year.

13. Marion Bartoli- might hold seed.

14. Flavia Penenetta- could make run to quarters or even semis with right draw. Could also be upset earlier as not in great form now.

15. Aravane Rezai- I am not jumping on the bandwagon but in this wide open field and coming off the high in Madrid she could be very dangerous. Could make real run to the semis or so with a good draw.

16. Yanina Wickmayer- dangerous player but not really at home here. Depends on her draw. Might hold seed I am guessing.

17. Francesca Schiavone- could pull an upset or two. Depends on draw.

18. Shahar Peer- probably 3rd round.

19. Nadia Petrova- if she can keep her head together she could make a run to the quarters or semis. A big if with her.

20. Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez- another who could do alot of damage if she avoids Justine.

21. Vera Zvonareva- 3rd round.

22. Justine Henin- Champion probably but not as sure a thing as once before. Will be interesting to see draw.

23. Daniela Hantuchova- 3rd round.

24. Lucie Safarova- could pull an upset or two and sneak into 2nd week.

25. Jie Zheng- not really a clay courter.

26. Dominika Cibulkova- could do some damage.

27. Alona Bondarenko- early round exit probably. I dont keep tabs on the Bondarenko sisters too much I admit.

28. Alisa Kleybanova- dangerous low seed. Could do some damage with her big game.

29. Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova- who knows, know almost nothing about this one.

30. Maria Kirilenko- could get to quarters with right draw or go out alot sooner.

31. Alexandra Dulgheru- holding seed I guess. I dont know too much about her yet.

32. Kateryna Bondarenko- early round exit perhaps. Like I said I dont keep track of the B sisters much.

I mostly agree with everything. It's hard to see Justine not taking this, unless a miracle upset happens.

How much does Serena weight this time of the year?...

Rolland Garros is known for the great ice cream, only second best to Wimbledon.
