golfers elbow/babolat racquet

After about 4 months of using the babolat pure drive plus, I developed severe pain in my elbow. I recently found out that I had a flaw in my serve being that my elbow was not high enough when I was striking the ball causing the "golfers elbow". However, I had served the same way for years using diffrent racquets with no problems. Is my age(36) catching up with me, or did the babolat pure drive contribute to the problem? I recently started some physical therapy/acupuncture-microcurrent which has significantly helped the problem along with changing my serving motion and hitting the serve lighter. The pain has decreased but is still there. AS of today, I am still using the babolat. I'm concidering changing to a more flexible racquet. My thoughts are the vokl V10 engine, Dunlop 200g or 300g, head LM prestige, or the Wilson ncode six-one 95 18x20.. Does anyone have an opinion as to which one would be best? Also, anyone else have any elbow problems with the pure drive pluse? Thanks for the input.
I'm a 4.5 player

The PD series of rackets are not for everyone. I too suffered arm problems (wrist) with the PD+ and PD Std. The racket is very stiff and should be avoided by anyone who remotely has arm soreness from tennis. I've heard this same story a hundred times. Most of the Babs frames are the same way.

Your alternative rackets all sound good but it would be helpful to know what style of tennis you play. 4.5 tells only part of the story. Most Volkl's are very arm friendly but will have a lot less power than that PD+ especially on serve. If you tend to S&V I'd look into the N6195. Otherwise the 200g and LM Prestige would be good choices. I never liked the 300g but then I prefer heavier frames. Look at the new Prince O3 Tour as well....great racket (finally Prince got it right).

If I hit with my friend's PD, my arm hurts after just 10 minutes.
It is an arm unfriendly frame for all but the youthful crowd.
As said already, the frames you mentioned are pretty good for the arm altho my ncode6195 is slightly demanding for me and my arm. But I love the frame very much after I leaded it up.
Dont fool around with TE.
One possibility is to lower the PD tension to 45lbs. You will get used to the soft strings and your arm may still be able to use the frame at that tension.

I'm mostly a baseline player, coming in on the short ball.
Are you a flat baller or a heavy spin player,... a pusher/retriever or a dictator? Also, do you need the benefit of extra power in a frame (like the PD+)? This info would help too.

lebow issues

I to switched the PD+ and developed elbow problems that I never had before or since and while I am sure I have many swing flaws they never caused this issue before

I hit the ball fairly hard using a decent amount of topspin on my forehand side. When my elbow was feeling perfect I hit a hard serve. I probably didnt need the extra power the pd pluse gave me, but it sure was nice!! The serves would boom off that racquet! And I guess my elbow boomed also.

I hit the ball with topspin and fairly hard. My serve is also hard when the elbow doesnt hurt. I guess I dont need all the power the pd plus give, but I sure do like it, especially on the serve.

So what do you think now, Rooskie? Also, are anyone of these frames better on the arm than the other, or they about the same. I noticed the flex on the 200g is 60 and the ncode 61 95 is 64 flex. Does the difference in flex matter that much?

Im gonna try all five racquets in the next week or two.

I guess my biggest concern right now is getting rid of the pain in my elbow to the point where it is 100%. Of course I want to like the feel of the racquet also.
If all five racquets are equally good for the arm, then I guess I would choose the one that felt most like the pd plus

Ouchieelbow - I switched from the POG Mid to the VE Tour 10 about three months ago. I hit a hard first serve, fairly flat forehand, and a drive and slice 1hbh. I've had golfer's elbow for some time now and I can't say that the VE 10 has helped or hurt the condition. I will say that the VE 10 is a great racquet in that it swings lighter than its actual weight and is great for the 1hbh, serves and volleys. I don't know if the Volkl will help your elbow, but you will like it and it will probably help your game.
