HEAD: graphene prestige pro vs YT prestige pro

I played with the YT prestige pro for about a year and really liked it. Replaced it with the TF 315 ATP Ltd 16, which after customization is still the boss.

I hit with my wife's YT PP for a few minutes this weekend, though, and I started thinking about trying a graphene PP.

Any YT to graphene PP converts here? Anyone try the grapheme PP and hate it compared to any prestige stick?

Thanks. I love the weight of the YT PP, though, and would probably have to either lead-up anything lighter, or spend some time getting used to a lighter frame.

The Youtek Prestige Pro has a strung weight of 335g according to TW, whereas the Graphene version has a strung weight of 332. SW is 320 vs 328, balance is 6 pt HL vs 5.

I haven't tried the Youtek version but I did have both the IG and Graphene version for a while. My fav was by far the Graphene version. It's a solid feeling frame, and I can't understand for the life of me how anyone would characterize it as stiff, except if you came from a Pacific BX2 X Feel Pro 95 or something even noodlier.

I haven't tried the T-fight 315, but I had the 320 version at one time, and the GPP buries it.

^^^ Definitely an interesting perspective. Thanks very much for posting it.

I played ytpp for years. Switched to graph pp and played it for about a year. They are quite different sticks. Gpp is lighter, higher sw, more powerful(imo). Polarized weight distribution. I wouldn't call it a true tweener, but it's closer to one than the ytpp. I did like it a lot, but ultimately I got rid of it because it was a little too powerful for me. I still miss it on the serve. For me it was the best serving stick I've ever hit, by far. The yt is a pure players stick. Heavy, solid as a rock, low powered, great plow. It was just a little too heavy for me to play well with after a few sets.
For the record, I now play the tfight 315 ltd 16m. Have it weighted up to around 340g . It plays very similar to the ytpp, but is a little lighter and much softer, which I love.

Now that's really interesting. Similarly to you, I've weighed mine up to ~ 348g and 7pts HL.

The very first thing I thought when I tried the TF was, "Wow -- this feels like the YTPP, but...better!" and that's the reason I switched.

I tried the RF97 for a bit, and liked the extra heft but couldn't work with the poor Wilson QC (one frame of two was wildly out of spec and felt like total crap). So I played around for a while with adding lead and getting the balance where I liked it on the TF, and I've been here ever since.

I might give the GPP a demo just to say I tried it, but it sounds like I'm in a pretty good place.

Thanks very much.

No problem. I've heard many players refer to the tfight as a "better prestige pro". The mold is basically identical, as is the balance. SW is lower, but most of us add lead to bring it up a bit. They both use the same grip pallets too. Its light enough to customize a little, unlike the ytpp which is pretty hefty in stock form(for me, at least). The difference maker for me is the softer flex of the tfight. I love that little bit of give in the frame at contact. I know its only in my head, but it makes me feel like the ball is on the strings longer, giving me more control.
The GPP wasn't bad at all. Just different. Not nearly a solid feeling as the ytpp or the tfight, but it still delivers results. Great looking stick, too.

The new retail GPP can be anywhere between 312 and 324 grams. Bad QC from Head. I have 2 GPP , both over 320 grams and i took them to 328 grams and 31.8 cm balance. With string, OG and dampener they have 353 g and 32.2 balance. Absolute beast this racket . Unmodified i didn't like them at all.
