Head Gripshape

I'm currently looking for used MG Radical Pro. I have been using Prince rackets all my tennis life and I am so used to the rounder handles. The reason why I never leaned toward head is because of the rectangular handles.

I understand that you can install the TK82s pallets for a more rounder handle (closer to Wilson). Can this be done on all head rackets?

I understand the the pallets cost a bit of money in the TW Classifieds (seen some with butt cap around 30 dollars!). I read somewhere on the forum where you can use balsa wood to make a rectangular handle more round by installing some on the "longer" bevels. I currently use a Prince L3 size grip. If I were to do this modification with Head Racket, which grip shape would I used L2 or L3? I feel if I use a L3 size and adding the handle I will get a L4 size handle. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Buy TK82s pallets from TW Europe! They cost around 8 euros for persons living outside EU.

Those TK82s pallets can be installed on any head racquet. They are 2 inches longer then your grip so u will have to cut it with a saw to the right length.

Good luck! :)

Balsa wood? I too loath the rectangular Head grip shape (even more than I loath Prince. Almost too round for me). I read that someone added masking tape to the long bevels to round the grip out. I tried it and it worked out quite well. Only added 2-3 grams of weight (I am balance picky so I removed an equal amount of weight from the lead I have in the butt cap). I was going to use this as a stop-gap measure until I could find a pallet, but I like it so much that I'm not even going to bother with the pallet.

Another MG Rad Pro user, they're hard to find now too, I just acquired a second, and am considering buying another 2 from an online shop in the UK I think it is.

I am buying the Speed pallets for them as well, I used Wilson all my life till midway through the year.

One more for dislike of Head grip shape, If the OP used to play with a Prince racquet, The TK82s pallet is for you. I was able to acquire the pallets on this board and i am now enjoying my Head TGK238.1 pro stock much more now. Much better than the TK76 pallet. I am guessing you have a OHBH, this is why i had to switch

thanks for advice guys!

armsty: yeah I'm having a hard time finding used ones. Do they still the MG Rad Pro pre-strung at chain sports stores? (e.g Big 5 & Sports Authority? I know they sell the MG Extreme at Sports Chalet.

rudester: Yed I do have OHBH! With this rect. handles it feels like I don't have a good grip on it...

in any case I need to find the racket first.. I have been searching feverishly!
