Hi everyone. I found a vintage Head racket, which has Impulse and Edge series on it. Wondering if anyone has more information about it. Please click the photo to check the picture
Yes, European release, made in Austria, virca 1986. “Edge” mold (standard head +20% or 82 sq-in; box beam). Probably mostly fiberglass composition. Fun to play tennis with, minty flavor and surprisingly low in calories.
I have to say it has identical markings to the Hot Edge (and various others), including the 'besonders armshoenung' and the 'Kontrolleur' sticker. I have always believed the Hot was made in Taiwan because it doesn't say Austria on the silver butt-cap, so I would guess the Impulse is too. I understood that the Taiwan factory included the German markings for consistency. But I'm not sure. Is there some evidence this was an Austrian model I've missed? The weight should also be about 342g strung, rather than 356g?
Thanks for the information. I Couldn't see any region sign. I cut the string already and the unstrung weight is 334g, so strung weight probably around 350g.
