Highest ITF Junior World Rankings attained by current ATP top 100

I was curious about this so I actually spent an hour putting these numbers together. But I'm also curious as to what folks here (intuitively) think about the correlation between success as a junior and at the ATP level.

So, what are your best guesses (or you can look this stuff up yourself) as to how many members of the current ATP top-100 achieved the following (highest) combined ITF junior world ranking:

#1:
#2 - #10:
#11 - #25:
#26 - #50:

**********************************************************************
Update with Answers:

#1: 21
#2 - #10: 35
#11 - #25: 12
#26 - #50: 8
#51 - #100: 9
Over 100: 11
None: 4

The question is how many of the current ATP 100 achieved No 1 ranking in the juniors.

Correct?

On that assumption 2-10.

No, I probably wasn't clear enough... let me try to edit the original post and make it clearer. I meant, how many of the current ATP top-100 achieved a junior world ranking of #1, how many achieved a world ranking of between #2 and #10, etc.

Well I think the correlation breaks down pretty quickly, so I would say.:-

You're interpreting the question correctly but the numbers don't have to sum to 100, as there are some guys whose highest ranking was below 50 and a few that never had an ITF ranking at all. Steve Johnson's highest ITF ranking, for example, was 660, mainly because he didn't travel to play ITF events. But he won 8 USTA national championships as a junior (singles and doubles) and was one of the top-10 national college recruits as a high school senior. So, there are some current pros who for various reasons - geography (US players are more likely to stick to USTA events as opposed to traveling to ITF events), finances, etc - didn't get around to playing many ITF events. Just to clarify.

I have no idea what the answer is, but I'm interested.

I would expect some wildly varying numbers when you get below the top 10 or 20.

I would guess,
#1: 3
#2 - #10: 20
#11 - #25: 30
#26 - #50: 35

It would be bery interesting to see how this correlation has evolved over the years since say 2000.

Interesting.

I was confused and thought you were asking the other way round. That is to say how many of the No 1 juniors became No 1 etc on the ATP.

I find this thread interesting as 5 years later I see that junior ITF players, not only in top 100 but 300, are pretty close to many ATP players in 300th, 400th and down there. I've seen 15 year olds getting their first ATP points a few times this year but I know some Futures have weak competition too. I wonder what others think of the top 300 junior ITF players and their level to compare to those below 300 ATP players.
