i can hit flat/spin forehand but i cant hit in the middle. my flat forehand is extremely unstable and usually go out or net, my topspin forehand on the other hand goes in alot but its really slow and easy to be attacked.can somone please give me tips on how to hit with less spin but still have the consistency of pure spin forehands?

Drive through the ball. No matter what your grip is, even if it's extreme western, driving through the ball will give it pace. Do not just brush up on the ball, just smack it, slap it, punch through the ball.

How do you drive through the ball? *Thinking* about hitting through the ball will help, follow through your shots, turn your waist, step in etc...

Compromise, always our biggest problem
We can hit hard, but erratic. Or we can hit soft, and consistent.
We can hit flat, but erratic. Or we can spin, but short and slow.
We can serve really hard, but erratic. We need to tone it down to get it in.
We can date a supermodel, but knowing we'll get burned. We can date a fat ugly chick, but .........

Perhaps experimenting with some lead tape on your racquet head? The extra weight/mass will allow you to plow through the ball with greater force and stability. Maybe worth a try.

You can still swing low to high to create topspin and still get a flatter trajectory. Just try to drive through the ball more rather than brushing up as much. When you swing through, try to extend your swing out into the court more rather than simply brushing up.

You don't have to come flat and straight through it, you just need to find a middle ground between your all-out flat stroke and your all-out topspin stroke.

Also - practice, practice, practice, practice - until you can make that shot reliable.

Why can't you develop a good ts fh with enough drive? It's fun and meets the purpose of workout, upperbody workout, to hit such FH. I can flatten my stroke but I'm going toward Nadal style which feels very whippy, tolerates good amount of net clearance and the shot looks right down beautiful. Here's a thing, most recreational players do not know how to hit a shot on the rise. So, even when a ts shot lands short, they still wait for the ball to peak before they can hit.
