With the controversy surrounding her decision to sack her coach who was with her during her two major wins, she's been getting some negative attention. Her results haven't been good since. However this could just be coincidence, a natural slump in form. Or is she really as good as she's made out to be?

Will she win more majors or will she be yet another flash in the pan female player like Ivanovic etc?

I hope her sister does not get undeserved wildcards to any more WTA tournaments.

Something seems to be on her mind when she played the last match. She's not "present" in the moment. Understandably so, with all the things outside the court that's going on now. As she gets older, those things probably affects her more than day when she was 14 when she can "just play tennis"

There's still a lot of inconsistencies in her game/result. I'm guessing she'll iron those things out. ATG? Hmm. Not so sure.

Don't like predicting ATG status, plus I'd lower the standard to something like 10 slams because there's a huge difference between 7 (Henin's number) and 15.

That said, I picked the Henin option. She still has a load of time on her side and already has 2 slams. The losses here aren't that important. People here always freak out about losses anywhere, even if it's some 250 (or whatever the WTA equivalent is) in the middle of nowhere, but she'll be fine in the long term IMO.

ATG standard should be 15+, that's Evert/Martina/Graf/Williams tier.

Henin is a tier below that, though she should have won one or two more majors.

Option 3. Too many young guns that flamed out.

Capriati, Hingis and yes Sharapova to an extent.

4-6 is the smart money but who knows maybe she doesn't win any more after Bajin.

You mean GOAT standard? Because if the ATG standard was your 15+, then ATG players in the men's tennis would be just members of Big 3.
I think there is a consensus for both men and women that the ATG player is a tennis player with 5+ GS titles. At 5+ Naomi has potential, IMO.

She has the talent, but I’ve observed she can be a bit whiny at times when she isn’t feeling her best. Hopefully she’ll mature more. She is just 21 and seems sheltered. No comparison to Muguruza. I think that young lady is bipolar.

Her success will be directly proportional to the amount of sodium chloride present on these boards.

Depends on whether she hires a speaking coach or not.

A new personality wouldn't hurt either.

I'm in between the first two options. She's only 21, and has won the last two majors. There are growing pains, and other valleys to deal with, but she seems to have all the tools. I'd be disappointed if she didn't win 8 or more majors.

Even if less than 8, some more majors, and a great career is still possible.

But her game has to grow in variety.

Maybe, but in what ways? I haven't seen that many of her matches, but she already seems to be much more than just a ball-basher, is athletic, moves well, returns well, etc. I wouldn't want her to lose her natural aggressiveness.

Depends on the surface.

The other day, she seemed to have less variety than her opponent. But that should come with time.

I haven't been able to watch her at either IW or Miami, and she's in a lull right now. I'll be anxious to see what level of success she'll have at both the FO and Wimbledon this year. That will better speak to her versatility, though she is just 21.

The only concern is that she needs a very good coach who knows how to get her to broaden her range of shots.

And if she does not listen and goes her own way, that usually does not work.

It's hard to really know what goes on in anyone's camp, and to understand the whole player/coach/family dynamic. She may have made an error in judgment in firing Sascha, but who really knows... I'm very high on her future, though I'm often wrong in my predictions.
