On a relatively basis, if you call Lendl, Edberg, Becker, Agassi, Sampras an "A" career, then Goran, Y-man, Krajicek, Chang, Muster, Guga, Rafter an "A-"career, who would be rather be to if you're gonna have a 'B+" career.

Bascially, I'm asking whether you would have slam and relatively nothing else, or no slam but consistent over a decade or so.

Martin/Pioline

two slam final each, very few titles, Martin - 8, Pioline - 5.

Highest ranking 4 and 5 respectively

Martin famous for his fifth set comeback

Pioline notorios for his record in finals

Rios

Only one here to be number 1. Many titles, load of talents. The only one to challenge Sampras in 1998.

Corretija

2 French final, one Master Cup. Always in shadow of Brugeara early on and then Moya. Highest at no. 3

Henman

No slam final, tonnes of semis, highest no.4

Rusedski
One slam final, highest no.4

Ferreria
2 slam semi 11 years apart, winning record against Sampras

Scud
2 slam final, highest at no .8

Kiefer/Haas/Bjorkman

Did Kiefer ever reach a slam semi? The other two got one semi each, overachiever in my opinion. Highest at no. 2 for Haas and no. 4 for the other two

Costa/Johansson

One slam each. TJ is more all around but I think Costa had more titles

I would love to be able to hit like Rios, but in terms of a career, winning a major would be enough for "fulfill the dream" as a tennis player.

If you don't win a slam, then being #1 is the next best thing. So Rios.

But (to me) winning a Slam trumps being a dubious #1, so Costa or Johansson. (Or Guadio, Gomez, Chang, Moya, Noah, etc...) :p

Corretja reached number two in the world.

I can't believe that Tojo and Costa aren't getting more votes. I'm sure that Corretja would rather Costa's career ;)

I voted for Bjorkman. I love the doubles game and have a lot of respect for the players. In addition to being a B list singles player, but he is also an A list doubles player. He's won 34 doubles titles (6 of which were slam titles) and he is currently the #1 ranked doubles player.

I never knew Mark Philippoussis was nicknamed "scud". How did he get that name?

I'd add Korda and Enqvist in the poll, but the max number is 10

IMO Korda had more than a B+ career, but he has too few titles (around 10) to accompany his Aus slam. Somewhat like Cash (7) if you ask me. Moya will be in the same category by his end of career if he didn't win more.

Enqvist was once IMO the best player without a slam. He was so hot in 1995 and 1999 only behind Sampras and Agassi those two year. but he fade away way too early
