I'm turning off Google's mobile phone Sign In prompts.

The other day my phone got a prompt that somebody in South Africa is trying to login to my Google account. I've activated the mobile phone sign in prompt. Every time I sign in on different devices, I must check my phone and click Yes or No in the "Is this you who tried to sign in on Computer blah blah blah"...

If I accidentally pressed YES, when that South African guy tried to log in, it would have been BYE BYE my google account. Luckily I pressed NO. And that South African guy was blocked by Google.

So, I turn OFF / delete the Mobile Phone sign in prompts.

Now, I only use SMS code confirmation. Safer. I'll never accidentally press YES or NO.

If you accidentally press yes, you should change your password.

Also he only attempted login. So pressing yes would not mean bye bye.

As long as you have a secure password, why does it matter if someone in Africa is trying to login?

I'm now not really sure if that prompt was saying "someone trying to log in" or "someone is logging into your Google account in South Africa"

I can't really remember what the Google Mobile Sign In Prompt said... I think it said "Is this you who log in in South Africa.." or something like that.

Anyway, if I pressed YES, then I'm sure that criminal would have been able to access my Google account.
