Interferences

Does pros' attire affect them more than they would like to admit?

Roddick is constantly messing with his charity bracelet and it does not stay still when he swings. Another good example is the large "bling-bling" that the Williamses and Sharapova to name a few are seen wearing. Could pros' games benefit from removing these interferences?

The case is different with other pros like Dent, who seem to have a thing against hats. It showed in the blistering heat during the Indy final against Ginepri, where the wiser Ginepri chose to wear the hat.

It seems some pros can't do without these "interferences" and others seem to never want to wear them even if it is beneficial.

Bump... What are your thoughts on this? Has this already been discussed or just plain stupid to discuss?

would you count nadal or hewitt picking their asses as a distraction or interference 'cause it seems to be working for them

I heard about the Nadal thing, and I believe it is a habit of his that he's had for almost forever. I never knew of Hewitt doing anything like that though.

Agreed.
But, Hewitt's current clothes tweaking is just the nervous residue of the worst twitchset that I can recall. When younger, in shirts to his knees, and wrists, so much regular apparel maintenance was required that a comic duo called The Hewitts appeared at the AO for a few years, mimicking him. Was a hilarious, and lengthy, routine. Also included the cap settling and the string tweaking. Nothing much left to mimic now so The Hewitts have gone.
