Is the swingweight of Verdasco's racquet really 280???

I know--I've been reading your X men posts and that's one reason I tried it out.

I pick one up if I can find a cheap one in the used section-the only issue is that I use a 1/4 grip. Ross, did you try Rebel with full poly? That's my usual setup and I'd love to see how that works in there.

I haven't yet deviated from BB Alu Power Rough (M), Gosen OG Micro (C) @ 55/57 lbs, though next time I'm lowering the tension a bit and may well make a different string choice (I'm still deliberating tbh.)

Definitely post on the X-Men thread should you have any questions... I want to ask you about the MG Prestige mid anyhow (I'm sure I recall you played with that a little bit?)... and, no, the Reb isn't perfect, but what with its relatively high SW/static weight and very head-light balance, it does indeed hit a wonderfully heavy 'booming' ball - though the control is most certainly still all there - and suits my b-line/slowly evolving all court game very well.

The Rebel hits like an "updated" MG Mid. The head size is a bit larger and I find that I hit a similar ball with both but the key is that with the Rebel, I can hit a bigger ball more consistently. I'm about 50/50 on picking up a rebel if I can find a good used one

The Mid is a great stick but the small head and the tight pattern make it too tricky for me on a daily basis. The timing on the Rebel is that little bit different-in a good way as you know. I really believe the holes promote more stick speed and let you whip it through quicker. Lot's of fun.

Ped I usually use the MG prestige mid and have recently switched to the Rebel and I agree with what your said in your previous post. It's a prestige mid with a larger headsize that is easier to whip around.

I saw that you picked up a Rebel for $115 and it made jealous. I'm keeping my eyes open for some used ones.

The shot that I "refound" when I hit with the Rebel vs the Prestige is the swinging volley. I used to be able to rip that shot when I played with the APDC but since I've been using the Prestige, it was not nearly as effective. Enter the Rebel and I was able to drill them out of the sky-the only thing I can think is the Exo holes really do increase racquet head speed-either way, it works

It's all about stable, big serve, heavy ball frames with feel for me these days I think! (ie, no more Babs PED!)
