Yes, the implication is (as suspected) that they just got the clothes bc they had no clothing sponsor as part of their racquet deal, whereas Kostyuk is actually paid to endorse the clothing line specifically

This is a weird one for me from some perspectives, but an obvious huge win for Wilson.

Did Nike drop Kostyuk as part of its more aggressive performance based contracts? I can’t imagine that happening, but a possibility?

Maybe it was Marta’s decision to leave Nike? Possibly wearing Wilson enables Kostyuk freedom for more income streams as she will be allowed to add sponsorship patches now that she is not with Nike. Or maybe she saw more long term stability in Wilson with the changes happening at Nike right now.

It’s very odd, it’s a little difficult seeing anyone voluntarily making this move. Is it possible to get a better deal from Wilson than Nike?

From Wilson’s standpoint it’s obviously a great result to land a player like Kostyuk.

The new Wilson women’s lines look a lot more fashionable than they have in the past and Kostyuk is a great ambassador to bring awareness to a big shift in the new women’s lines.

It would be cool to find out how deep Marta’s role goes behind the scenes, because the Wilson gear she has been wearing looks so much better than what Wilson has done in the past.

Will be interested to see if something equivalent is done to revive the very tired Wilson men’s lines.

Of course it is!

Coke doesn't pay for celeb endorsements; Pepsi does.

Nike is so popular, so far ahead of the pack, that they can pay less to their endorsed athletes.

I just looked at their men's lines...looks like they are already reinvigorating them. Stuff looks very simple, clean & nice, if pricey

yeah but it doesn't mean he had a sponsorship deal specifically for their clothing line like Kostyuk... he just got it for free/cheap from his racquet deal bc he didn't have a clothing sponsor (thats why when most players are wearing their racquet sponsors clothes its bc they lost their clothing sponsor)

She has done A LOT to raise awareness and aid for the Ukrainian plight (just do some googling). For a 20 years old, her head is in the right place.

It’s the best Wilson gear for a long time imo.

They have eschewed the boring graphic prints and garish colours and unflattering silhouettes. They’ve created something really special with these new women’s lines.

If they get the prices right, this stuff is going to sell like hotcakes to young women who like this look/style that Kostyuk has presented.

The quality and simplicity of this women’s line reminds me a lot of what Fernandez is endorsing with Lululemon.
