Anyone else ever notice that the last Grand Slam wins of Borg, Connors, McEnroe, and Wilander all came against Ivan Lendl.

1981 French Open, 1983 U.S. Open, 1984 U.S. Open, and 1988 U.S. Open, respectively.

Edberg beat Lendl in his QF during his last grand slam win at the 1992 US Open, the second of his 3 consecutive epic 5 set wins en-route to the final of that event. That was also the final match of their rivalry, which officially ended at 14-13 to Edberg.

Edberg was leading by 2 sets to 1 and was 4-2 up in the 4th set. Lendl fought back but then saved 4 match points while serving at 4-5, before forcing a 5th set. Edberg was leading it 2-1 when rain ended play for the day. As the players walked off the court, Lendl received a huge and well deserved standing ovation from the crowd (something he rarely received during his prime lol). Edberg came back the next day to win the 5th set through a tiebreak, kissing the net after a net cord went in his favour during the 5th point.

In the previous round, Lendl had come from 2 sets to 1 down to finally beat Becker in a grand slam at the 6th attempt. He tied their official head to head at 10-10 with that win.
