lead tape durability?

Are there any "durability" factors that come with lead tape? As in, can you theoretically stick with the same lead tape that you put on for the rest of the racquet's life, or should they be replaced with a fresh set of lead tape after a certain amount of time?

Lead tape

The only way my lead tape comes off is when I have
it restrung. The stringer will always take it off unless
I am there to tell him to leave it alone.
If you apply it with him in mind and put the tape out
of the way of a stringing process, and thus have no
need for removal, the tape will be fine for years.

Lead tape doesn't ever need to be replaced, in my experience. It's on the inside of the frame, grip or inside the handle and isn't subjected to wear and it's impervious to heat and humidity. It will tarnish slightly.
