Learning to live without Roger

He will probably go down in history as the last significant player to use a 1-handed BH or to use a 90 sq-inch frame.

Federer is going out only as the third-best of his era with equal Slams but losing H2H against the top two, so the impact is much less than it would have been otherwise.

Too Long Didn't Read (TLDR)

Will definitely miss watching Federer play his beautiful style of tennis when he actually does decide to hang up the racquet for good.
Hopefully he can leave on his own terms and have another crack at Wimbledon 2022.

I dont know about Fed but tennis may not be able to live without the Big 3. They were a blessing and a curse. A blessing for the popularity of the game. A curse for all the garbage that comes thereafter that pale in comparison

The sport will survive. If the next gen sucks, that's their fault not the fault of the Big 3.

Spare a thought for the poor scalpers and tournament directors who'll now have to hand back the Lambo and live off foodstamps.

I reckon 95% of the current western tennis journalists will be on suicide watch in the next couple of months. Lol Bunch of bootlicking establishment parasites. What a pathetic article this is... Cry, just cry some more... Lol
Jealous .. cos no one is willing to write such stuff for your idol

"Beyond tennis, Roger draws comparisons with our greatest geniuses, like Leonardo da Vinci. Neither man could avoid beauty. Federer is sports’ answer to Fred Astaire – kinetic perfection their creed, balance the key. Like Baryshnikov, Roger lifts athletic grace to astonishing heights. Like Picasso his distinctive strokes inspire. And what of this Swiss tennis player and Steve Jobs, the wizard of Silicon Valley? Well, they both did their best work in sneakers."

Cringe.

Don't mean to hate, there's pathetic and there's this:

"And the day is coming when this graceful man will no longer grace our courts. Then we’ll have to gather round, hold hands, sing Kumbaya and trust that Planet Tennis without Roger will still spin, and continue to nurture our souls."

This guy must be a cultist or something.

Tennis will live on, like it always has. New legends will be born, new chapters will be written, new journeys will be experienced. That's the way of the world.

Don't be sad that this chapter is coming to an end, instead smile that it happened. This is something all past, present and future champions will go through.

They should test the writer for substance abuse

"Roger was one king who was always comfortable on his throne." "He exuded an existential quiet

Now, that's a lot of BS.

You can say he has an effortless and fluent game, but him being quiet and comfortable ?

Federer has been Mr Insecurity ever since i began watching him.

In his post-match interview at W 2003, he was telling Sue Barker he wished he "wouldn't be forced by Philippoussis to come up with another good shot on match point".
At AO 2009, he was complaining about Rafa "killing him" then cried uncontrolably like a 10 year old....

I don't believe there has been in the history of this sport someone who lost so many slam matches after having match points, starting right in his early twenties.
Certainly a world record for a Top player.

Is that the mark of a man being quiet and comfortable ?

His own junior coaches have stated he was rather shy around girls....
