let's talk purple-gray, Prince Phantom 97P

Hey all,

in Germany it's quite difficult, well impossible, to get a test on the Prince Phantom 97P. Disappointing. That's one thing. I have read many Talk Tennis Threads about that promising racquet... but actually no one discusses the color, huh?!
How is it? I mean purple-gray (metallic) - do you like it? Is it really just in bright light and sun-light purple, otherwise really "dark", grey?

Up close in your hands you can see it is a nice purple. I am not a purple fan but it really is a special paint job. Pretty much everyone thinks it is black from a distance. Unique in the detail upclose but very classic from distance.

Is pretty much black. I don't think I even noticed it was purple and it's my main stick.
It's the best racquet of its kind on the market IMHO and I pretty much demo everything for fun as a hobby.
I demoed it next to bunch of racquets and still feels the best and that is coming from somebody that prefers 18x20 but this just feels better than anything else out there.

If you want something head light around 330 sw under 340gr and thin there is nothing better

I like the purple, it’s a sweet looking stick (I had the 93p purple). I wish I could get the 95 in the colorway.

Have you hit with the PS97 and would be able to tell me how the 97P compares to the PS97?! I play with both v11 and v13 but prefer v11...

Sorry never hit with that one. But if it's similar to rf than 97p is just as stable but flies quicker through the air

The colour is OK but the paint chips too easy. I’d like to see a more electric purple colour more to distinguish different versions of the phantoms as they all look the same.

Competing is a strong word lol but that racquet really bails me out because I really don't want to run (have Achilles issues) so I just serve lights out and I'm good if we go to 3rs set I'm toast lol

What about Phantom vs v13 did you ever try pro staff v13? Both 97 headsize and very precision based similar kind of gameplay

It's really dark purple/aubergine, I would say a bit more so than on the average pictures you can find of it. Looks a bit oldmannish tbh.
