Limit on difference between Main and Cross strings?

I usually play with 17g Technifibre NRG-2's on my whole stringbed at 58 lbs, but i'm planning on doing a hybrid with Big Banger ALU power roughs in the crosses when my strings break (judging by the fraying, pretty soon).

I've played with the Luxilons my entire stringbed before, and i'm a firm follower of their suggestion of at least a 10% reduction from my normal string tension, cause that stuff was ridiculously stiff feeling (i actually went down to 50 from 58)

my question is would stringing my Technifibre mains at 58 lbs and the Luxilons at 52 lbs (possibly even 50) present any problems in terms of durability and, more importantly, playability? should i get them strung at tensions closer together?

also, i realize that the ALU power roughs only come in 16Lg, and I like to play with 17g Technifibres. i've never had a hybrid before where the mains were thinner than the crosses, or even seen one like that. will my mains get worn down really fast or should i go ahead and switch the NRG's to 16g?

i'd prefer i feel the shweetness of the NRG more than the harshness of the Luxilons; i like how the ball comes off the strings with the big banger though

putting alu rough in the crosses would be a waste of money, as most playing properties come from the mains. Slap on a cheaper poly and you won't notice a difference.

the ALU power roughs 16Lg is the almost the same size as the 17g Technifibres because one is at 1.25 and the other is 1.24. I play with the biphase 16g main and the ALU power rough cross at 24kg and 22kg and it is amazing. The only problem is the durability because this setup only last me three days of only 3 hours of play a day. so since your using a thinner main this might not last you that long but im sure your playability should even be better because of your thinner main.

I've currently got X-one bisphase in mains and ALU rough in crosses and i love it! I much prefer it to ALU rough in mains and X-one bisphase in the crosses.

Id defiantly give the NRG'2 ago in the mains and ALU rough in crosses. Personally IMO string my ALU rough slightly lower, (2-3lbs) but I'm not sure stringing 6-8lbs would be abit to much of tension difference.
