Load spreader snapped

Had a load spreader snap while stringing. Made one large bang of a noise!
I typically use them on racquets that have a convex inner surface as the 12 o'clock billiard holds better without slipping and it spreads forces over a larger area. You would think an item as such being a small piece of plastic would have a formula that could take compressive forces. Everything made cheap now.
Glad no damage to customers racquet!

I was watching badminton stringing videos today. They use load spreaders on the 12 position with no pad on the 12 support. On the 6 support they use normal pad and no spreader. I hope you were using your pad.

Yes I did, as I never removed them , as there is no reason to.
Sure woke me up with that loud bang.

I wonder, why do badminton stringer not use the pads at 12?

here is another video with one of the pads removed I've seen it in every video I watched today.

I have no idea why they would remove pad to use spreader.
The spreaders I use fit right over the pads.

The clearance between the frame and the top string can be tight in a badminton racquet. Removing the pad will get the support a little closer to the frame, which could make the difference between your clamp fitting or not.
