Looking for a durable substitute for NRG2 for my crosses in a hybrid setup

I love the way Technifibre Red Code 16 in the mains feels with Technifibre NRG2 16 in the crosses. But the NRG2 shreds fast and breaks, even with string savers. Can anyone suggest a multi-filament that feels similar to NRG2, but is a lot more durable in the same or lower price range? Thanks!

NXT Control or NXT OS may work. Prince Premier Control or Micronite may also work though I have not strung any of the Micronite. Your problem stems from the poly mains being much harder and durable than the multi. You may want to replace the multi cross with a plain old nylon in 15 or 15L gauge. Both Prince, Forten and Gosen make this type of nylon. Another alternative is Ashaway Zyex, which must be pre-stretched.

Tecnifibre makes several multi strings that have a nylon/polyurethane composition. X-ONE, NRG2, Multifeel, TGV, XR1, XR3, Duramix, etc... More than likely the more Polyurethane that's in the string the better durability your going to have. Also there are other manufacturers that sell nylons / polyurethane strings like Wilson, Head, and Pacific to name a few.

For a same type feel and play... Head has a sleeper Head FXP Power/Tour are great Mutli. fraction of cost and they come in half sets:) My clients switched over and they could not be happier
