Luxilon Alu Power - Tecnifiber X-One Biphase 17 Hybrid

Hi. İ have a pack of both strings and i want to do a hybrid with them. İ usually use the VS natural gut Main+ RPM Blast Cross Hybrid from babolat on gut on the mains and Rpm on the cross with 25/24 tension. The VS came too pricey for me and i am willing to change.

Last time i strung them on 23.5/22.5 and itwas impossible to control my Babolat Pure Aero with it, it had too much power as i felt.( İts been a week and i will cut them out since i cant play)

So i am asking that how should i hybrid these 2 strings(ALU Power and the Biphase 17)should i put the ALU on the main and Biphase on the cross. And what tension do you recommend me ? (İ was thinking to do ALU MAİN with 24.5 kg and Biphase with 25.5 kg on cross)

Go with poly in the mains and multi in the crosses. The opposite set up will not last at all and will be a bit counterintuitive. Putting the Alu in the crosses is a waste.
For tension, keep I mind that the mains will be the ones that dominate the characteristics of the string bed. So poly in the mains will feel stiffer than gut in the mains. 24.5 mains/ 25.5 crosses seems fine to me. Give it a try and increase or decrease it to your liking.

I would not try recommending/using X1 as a cross or main. The coating is too soft and sticky in comparison to the ALU. The combo would end up with the X1 being shredded within hours. Poly mains need either a slippery SG or a soft copoly as a cross. The only exception to this is if you don't mind restringing every 6-10 hours.

Hi. Thanks for the comment btw.
I strung it today and played for about 1-2 hours, It felt even softer than the GUT in the mains i used to do.
The feel was extreme. There was good comfort. Power was not bad aswell.( I can generate my own power)

But interesting thing with this hybrid was it was too soft that when u hit the ball with it you feel like the ball is going to fly out the court, but it doesn't. Actually it stays perfectly in the court with good amount of spin.

But i can say that im a big/hard hitter that the X1 as my friend esgee48 stated started peeling off even in 2 hours. I believe it will last 5-6 more overs max.

I think everybody should give a try to this hybrid due to the extreme amount of feel and comfort by not forgiving from either power or control. (Even though i never had GUT in the cross with a Poly but still i think this was even softer than GUT).
Furthermore, If you try this HYBRID dont go lower than 24/25 KG.

What would the difference be if i Strung it (alu main biphase cross) 24.5/25.5 or 25.5/24.5 or 25/25. What would be the difference on the change of tension on the same hybrid setup ?

Strung alu power 1.25 24.5 kg mains and Xone Biphase 1.30 at 25.5 kg crosses on Wilson 6.1.95 18x20. Fantastic. Great control, just enough power and still soft. We'll see how many hours it lasts...

I’m thinking about stringing one of my 6.1 95 18x20’s with Alu Power 1.28/ VS Touch 1.30. Guess 54/56 would be a good tension. Hard to not put the Natural gut in the mains.
