Yesterday’s Picks: 6-4 overall

Dominic Thiem (-385) vs Alex De Minaur (+290)
Spread: -4.5
O/U: 21
Thiem looks like he’s back to form after a convincing win over Marcus Giron. De Minaur is scrappy and one of my favorite players on tour, but he doesn’t have the weapons to make Thiem uncomfortable. Keep in mind that Thiem also leads the H2H 3-0, having only ever dropped one set.
Prediction: Thiem def De Minaur 6-4 7-5

Aslan Karatsev (-323) vs Alexander Bublik (+252)
Spread: -4
O/U: 22
Both men have looked sharp to start the tournament, beating seeded players to qualify for the round of 16. However, Karatsev is the more well-rounded player and I see his superior return game making the difference in this one. Bublik won’t go down easy, but the hottest player on tour will find a way through.
Prediction: Karatsev def Bublik 6-4 6-7 6-2

Christian Garin (+129) vs Daniil Medvedev (-159)
Spread: -2
O/U: 22.5
Expect long points in this matchup between two of the most consistent players on tour. Garin has been clinical in the early rounds, while Medvedev was shaky at times in his first match. Nevertheless, the experience and class of Medvedev should win out, though it won’t come easy.
Prediction: Medvedev def Garin 7-6 7-5

John Isner (+263) vs Andrey Rublev (-345)
Spread: -3
O/U: 24
Isner pulled out a gutsy win today against RBA and looks back in top 20 form. Nevertheless, Rublev should dominate this matchup from the ground, and also touts a strong return game. I doubt Isner breaks the Rublev serve, which will make the difference.
Prediction: Rublev def Isner 7-6 6-7 6-3

Rafael Nadal (-5000) vs Alexei Popyrin (+1311)
Spread: -6.5
O/U: 18
The King of Clay ruthlessly picked apart Carlos Alcaraz this morning and he should bring that same intensity against Popyrin. Popyrin’s convincing win against Sinner inspires some confidence, but Nadal is just too good.
Prediction: Nadal def Popyrin 6-4 6-2

Casper Ruud (+347) vs Stefanos Tsitsipas (-476)
Spread: -4
O/U: 21.5
Tsitsipas has been arguably the most dominant player on clay this year, winning 10 of 11 matches on the surface. Ruud is playing the best tennis of his young career, but it won’t be enough to overcome the Greek God.
Prediction: Tsitsipas def Ruud 7-5 6-3

Matteo Berrettini (-357) vs Federico Delbonis (+271)
Spread: -4
O/U: 21.5
Delbonis came through qualifying but then upset both Carreno Busta and Ramos Vinolas convincingly. That said, Berrettini is a dangerous player with a massive serve and forehand combination that should leave Delbonis on his back heels. Oh, and Berrettini has also won 5 straight matches.
Prediction: Berrettini def Delbonis 7-6 6-4

Dan Evans (-400) vs Alexander Zverev (+304)
Spread: -4.5
O/U: 21.5
Vegas clearly sees Zverev as a massive favorite, but personally, I am hammering Evans +4.5, over 21.5 games, and sprinkling a little on Evans ML as well. Sure, Zverev looked dominant in his win over Nishikori, while Evans has battled three sets against both Chardy and Millman. But Evans is a smart player who can frustrate Zverev and is more than capable of taking down big names (just ask Djokovic how Monte Carlo went). I see Zverev eeking out a win, but Evans covers in three sets.
Zverev def Evans 7-6 4-6 6-4
