Had a chance to compare my MaxPly McEnroe to a friend's M-Fil 300. MaxPly is strung with Dunlop Tour Performance 16 at 60 lbs. No mods. M-Fil was strung with Prince Syn Gut 16 at 62 lbs, again no mods. I'll also state up front I think the MaxPly is the best thing Dunlop has done in a long time and it has become my primary frame. The 2 racquets are very similiar in physical appearance with the only real differences being that the MaxPly is .5 oz heavier, a little more head heavy and a bit stiffer than the 300.

In a nutshell, MaxPly just felt more solid and substantial on all shots. The only area where the 300 stood out for me was on serves. I guess due to its lighter weight and more HL balance, I could really generate some nasty spin and pinpoint placement due to increased racquet head speed. However serves were not as "heavy". On all other shots M-Fil 300 felt a little wobbly, without the solid feel of the MaxPly. The M-Fil 300 is much better than the 300g in terms of stability, but not up to the MaxPly.

That said, I'm intrigued enough to play around with some lead on the M-Fil 300 head. I bet it will stabilize things and get rid of the wobbly feel. It will definitely move the balance point toward the tip like the MaxPly. With a little tweaking I'm betting you could end up with an M-Fil 300 that matches the MaxPly in all specs but has some added flex. And at a slightly lower weight it will help when you don't prep early enough or the arm starts to tire. Then the choice between the two could get real tough.
