Most significant and most realisitic achievement remaining for Federer in 2016?

Maybe it has something to do with Nadal winning slams since he was 19........ They did not have the same career paths.
So why would Djokovic follow others' career paths and fall off the cliff after turning 30? Based off the current trend now, 29 is the new 24, and the entire field agrees.

Win his usual Real Slam. The one where I could not care less about. Don't know why its called the Real slam to be honest

The real slam comes from a legendary thread that was made in 2009, when a certain poster here, who shall remain nameless, said that unlike RG09 and W09, Federer has to beat 2 out of 3 of Murray, Djokovic and Nadal to win the title, since all four were in the semis. Basically saying that Cincy is the real slam...well the poster got to eat the biggest plate of crow, as Federer systematically destroyed anyone who stood in his way and won the title. Hence, the thread became one of legend, it was even before when I joined, and I know all about it. :)

What do you think is the most significant and most realistic achievement remaining for Federer in 2016?

I would think:
Qualify for the ATP Tour Finals - would be 15th overall/consecutive year doing so
Win a Title - would extend his record to 16 consecutive seasons of winning at least 1 Title
Finish year in the top 10 for a 15th year

I think all those are incredibly realistic goals for Federer and agree with other posters, not winning at least one title would be incredibly disappointing.

Personally and I think like all Federer fans I'd love to see him win the Olympic Singles Gold Medal but to be fair Djokovic and Murray are the deserving favourites on that front.
Second to that I'd love to see him at the very least make the Final of the USO as other than the horror which was 2013 he's made a Grand Slam Final every year since he won his first Slam in 2003...maintaining that consistency would be pretty cool.

Nadal is done winning slams....and Djokovic will not sustain that grinding style in to his 30's. When he falls, it will not be pretty. He's not going to go away slow like Sampras and Federer. It will be quick and brutal.

He only 5 behind! I repeat he couldn't keep winning them all. He just won 4 in a row, so was bound to stumble at somepoint. He'll be big fav for us open and OZ, if got to 14 after them 2, you'll defo start worrying then!

Djokovic might rack enough slams to surpass Fed, but I agree with Omega; his playing style is not well suited for 35+ players, judging by the ones who are still competitive.

I guess the Singles Olympic Gold or the WTF. The Gold is possible, because it's mostly best-of-3, and his body can take that much more easily. The WTF, too, for the same reason.

That's not to say that he can't win the US Open, but it's just way less likely.
