Murray and Butorac pose with women who take off their clothes for living

Of course Phil 'misunderstood' what I wrote - that's his purpose - to deliberately 'misunderstand' so that he can criticize something that was never said.

I guess the trick is not condoning the actions of the women in the pornography business while still being gracious for a photo. The fact that the ATP tour would promote it is what is probably at issue. Then again, the organization is only as strong as the personnel responsible for its content. They might not see anything wrong with Playboy bunnies, even though I doubt many people aspire to have their daughters take off their cloths for a living. As two young pros they probably enjoyed the chance to meet these girls hoping for a good time if they hit it off. The ATP putting the picture on the website is another issue.
Very well put. Nice to see that someone can see this from a mature, compassionate, and intelligent perspective, as opposed to the typically more common "Hell, ya! Show us more of them hooters!" (how utterly intellectual and insightful).

There is nothing pornagraphic about that photo. As a matter of fact most young kids that would see this would not even react to it. European and other societies children see topless women all their lives and have no problem with it, as it is natural to them.

This is the problem with US people who still have their head up there *sses regarding the natural body. We have turned a natural thing into a pornagraphic thing with our closed mindedness. I can only hope that we grow out of it and stop creating problems where there are none. This is why we have priests chasing little boys and one of the highest rape rates in the world. It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature.

Dont you dare call me American again!!!

I believe I said previously that there is nothing wrong or pornographic about the actual photo but it is when a kid reads the article and then decides to google 'playboy' etc etc and then all of a sudden the ATP has introduced kids to much more than a topless woman sunbathing on a beach. You can hardly say that a topless woman sunbathing is the comparable to what you find on the internet by googling one of these phrases..

One day if I have children, I will make sure to let them know that there is nothing wrong with taking your clothes off for money. And one day I'll point to a woman (who is barely wearing anything on her chest so that she purposely attracts attention, because that's how she makes her living) and tell my son: Now son, that is an example woman.... That is someone you should look forward to spend your life with!
...and your son will say, 'thanks for the heads-up, Dad, now kindly STFU, I'm going to nail that babe'.

Oh, I understood what you wrote just fine, and nothing I wrote was "critical"-just making a point-and, pointing out a common overreaction to anything that goes beyond photos of Victorian women out for a stroll in long dresses. Stop playing the "victim"...if you're not capable of having a civil conversation, go back and stick your head in the sand. As someone else in the thread mentioned, you need to get out more.

Not being a hormone driven teenager, I can see the OP's point from the perspective of it being questionable for the ATP to actively promote such things, as the influence on kids can be negative.

As ethical standards are being lowered by the day, North American culture is very much mainstreaming all forms of pornography - and that's just really bad news for easily influenced and vulnerable kids.

Not really. Waging wars which result in US soldiers and overseas civilians getting killed for no reason, and promoting this to vulnerable kids as their duty, is the real problem.

Of course you understood what I wrote, Phil - you just very deliberately responded to something that I never wrote - thus deliberately 'misinterpreting' my post.

And you've done it yet again with your post above, with your reference to "Victorian women". This is what you do on a regular basis on these boards - not just with me, but with everyone else who isn't on your little 'buddy' list.
Those who feel the need to deliberately 'misinterpret' and to grossly exaggerate in order to make their questionable 'point' - as you regularly do -, rather than put forth a solid and valid argument, are clearly acting out of desperation.

I think you're a tool.

I find it pathetic that they find pride in that... I mean all four of them, Murray, Butorac and the two dummies... I mean bunnies.

What's wrong with some young guys having a little fun? More power to them!

You are mature enough to see all that but would you really want your child to see that article, and because of it they decide to google it. Do you want your child looking at pornography? Whether it the women enjoy what they do or are manipulated or not?

That's where parental supervision and internet browsing filters come into play. It's a non-issue.

Well, the REALITY, of course, is that only about half of parents are aware enough and give enough of a damn about their kids to supervise their internet use (among other negative influences).
And internet filters only catch a fraction of what they claim they'll catch - many kids can get around filters.

So, in reality, it is very much an issue.

I'm surprised Safin wasn't around haha. I'm pretty sure that a vast majority of the male population wouldn't mind playing tennis/lounging around in the playboy mansion

He's there, daily.

If a child can get around an internet filter, then they've either A. had some outside help, or B. they are extremely intelligent which would lead me to believe that they are extremely mature for their age and could probably handle seeing "naked" women and not be scarred for life. I assume we're talking about non-teenagers here, because to be honest, which adolescent teenage boy doesn't know about playboy? It still takes quite abit of work to get around internet filters, especially if you actually put some work into the filters.

I don't see anything wrong with the photo, or the ATP having anything to do with Playboy. I don't think my values are corrupt for believing that, either.

I don't think the women in Playboy are being taken advantage of. Maybe they're geniuses because they know that a bare breast in the United States is such a huge deal that they could make a fortune by taking off a few articles of clothing.

You've just demonstrated that you don't know what kids are capable of on computers/the internet today, as well as not understanding the concept or context of role models and influence.
