Nadal and Drop Shot

Watching the Brown vs Nadal match, right from start, one thing was very clear. Nadal does not know what to do after reaching to a drop shot. He runs and reaches there on time, but that quick thinking to put the ball in right place was not there. I cannot call it fitness issue due to come back, it is pure mental inability to have quick thinking. His inability to play cat and mouse game with his opponent. I believe retrieving a drop shot and putting it at right place needs lot of creativity. I see it lacking in Nadal's game.
If Nadal was at prime form he would have blown Brown by his baseline groundies, but he still would have played his drop shots bad. I was very happy to see Brown being consistent with his single strategy to keep dropping the ball.
Tennis fans, what do you attribute Nadal's inability to win points on opponenets drop shots? I attribute to his uncreative brain, which is just programmed to play endless ground strokes.

Watch Wimbledon highlights of Nadal from 06-2011. Short answer is that he did everything better then. His movement and aggression suck. Venus and Kvitova hit harder, smh.

Moving forwards harder than side to side. A lot of time on dropshots players go crosscourt over the low part of the net automatically i doubt they even think about it. Im guessing he's just slower these days?
