If Nadal finishes 2013 in the top 2, he will tie Ivan Lendl and Andre Agassi for the third most amount of years between year end rankings in the top 2.

Agassi - 1994 - 2002
Ivan Lendl - 1981 - 1989

Only Federer, 9 years (2003-2012) and Connors, 10 years (1974-1984) have had a greater length of time between year end finishes in the top 2.

It is also worth noting that it would be Nadal's 8th year finishing in the top 2, this would tie Connors for the second most years in the top 2, behind Federer with 9 years in the top 2.

Yeah and he pretty much always finished #2. Always the brides made, never the bride.

The greatest #2 of all time, but never a champion.

Hilariously emphatic.

The only way Nadal will finish in the top 2 is if Cvac and Murray both suddenly retire.

Yeah right. More like they pretty much need to win everything until the end of the year because he's going to rack up points like he's playing Candy Crush.

Nadal certainly has a very good opportunity given the fact that he has no points to defend for the rest of the year and Djokovic and Murray have tons to defend. If he can win W he has a great chance to be number one again, forget number two.
