Natural gut 1.25mm

I have only used natural gut 1.30mm (VS Touch). Those who have used 1.25mm and 1.30mm, what did you find with the 1.25 vs 1.30 - is it the same expectation with strings in general i.e. more spin, power with the thinner gauge? If you strung gut in mains and did 56lbs for the 1.30mm gauge, what would you recommend for the 1.25mm gauge?

Personally, I did find more power with 1.25, but it was too much trampoline even at 60 lbs. I think I get more spin from 1.30, but maybe that's because I'm more confident swinging out with 1.30. Also, 1.25 broke too quickly.

I don’t do full beds of gut, always in a hybrid with poly crosses. That said, 1.30 or 1.25 mains @60# with 5% pre stretch and Revolve/Hawk/4g or maybe ALU (all 1.25) @ 55# play similarly for power but the 1.30 mains setup seems to volley better/more control.

Forget about the other gauges and go for 1.35.

I’ve tried 1.35, 1.30, 1.25 in gut/poly and couldn’t really notice differences. Probably have to try them side-by-side to tell.

1.25 snapped too early for me, 1.35 the opposite (can’t find a stringer in my area willing to restring just the poly), so I prefer 1.30.

1.25 feels great for the 1.5 hours of play before it snaps. Just not durability for me and barely any advantage as 1.30 is plenty soft. The two guages I tried were VS, both as mains with 1.22 ghost wire at 55/50 on a CX200 Tour 18x20. I've since moved to a full bed of poly.
