Need help to find my holy grail

Hi folks,

After having used 4 different frames, I'm always searching of my Holy grail.

Here is a little review of the frames I've used:

T-fight 295:
+ Control
-too low power, bad serve

M-fill 200:
+ Control
- maneuverability, bad acces to spin

Pure Drive:
+ Power, spin
- at net, control

FXP Fire:
+ Power
- Control

In fact, my game is based on a S&V style of service games, and defense with spin as a B plan (sorry I'm french)

With all those tests, can you help me find my holy grail please? (For the moment, I have had a studpid idea for 6months: Why did I sell My PDs, maybe I should buy some...)

i would certainly try a diablo mid plus (and the mid if you can manage the weight)


great sticks for serve, volley and heavy topspin. old school frame with open string pattern provides the best of both worlds.

I would prob go for the mid plus and then add lead if it feels too light.



personally i am a firm believer you can turn any frame into something you love using the right strings,tension, grip size and additional lead in different places.

what is most important is you understand what specs make you play best. do you play better with headlight or head heavy, flexible vs stiff.....


once you have found ur best specs, go to the online racquet finder where you search by inserting specs, it will draw up a list of every racquet that fits the bill.

Very interesting quotation I think. I really like my FXP fire for some reasons but I need more control, a more precise frame (perhaps due to the headsize), so how can I customize it for my best ?

not sure what the string pattern is on that bat but try putting some thicker strings in, maybe 15l gauge poly in the mains and 16l synthetic gut in the crosses.


this will dull down the liveliness in the racquet but still allow you a nice big sweet spot and thus comfortable frame with added control. try to avoid just stringing the racquet tighter, it is a waste of time because unless you resting ur racket every few days, the tension loss will take you back to the original situation.


another way to increase control is by adding weight to the head. Whilst added power is gained by playing with a heavier racquet, the greater mass will allow you to achieve powerful shots without having to swing so hard, the result is a much more controlled stroke resulting in fewer balls being sprayed all over the place.

Tecnifibre Synthetic gut, very bad but very cheap!
I was wondering about adding lead but I think that since the balance is 335cm unstrung, adding lead in the head would lower the maneuverability but I need a great maneuverability at net.

In fact, the great lack of that frame are: stability and control

Solution to resolve that ?

bb11 mid is a great s&v stick, it just hasn't been released foe sale yet.

have you thought about the mfil plus? its 97 sq in and has a 16x19 stringbed so its more of an open pattern with a slightly bigger head.
