New 2024 Yonex pro bags

The new Yonex bags for 2024 are posted on the Japan site, and some players are carrying these new bags (Etcheverry). Is it the same one that will be sold in US retail outlets? My biggest gripe with Yonex is that their pro bags for years have been exclusive to the Japanese market, and they skimp out on materials (i.e., no load-bearing backpack chest strap, no small accessory pocket, only one side exterior pocket).

Your criticism is fair but I don't think it's exclusive to Yonex. ALL bags from the legacy brands are equally lackluster now.

The bags that are actually innovative come from smaller brands like ADV and Geau.

Near as I can tell, these bags aren't available in the US quite yet, but you can get them in Canada. My son is in need of a new bag and wants the red 9 pack for his upcoming birthday, so I ordered one from a place in Vancouver BC.

Yumo Pro Shop. They do mostly badminton, but also tennis. They tend to have a lot of Yonex stuff you don’t see in the US. I got a couple of the kid’s Vcore 95s there cuz the exchage rate favors us Americans at the moment. And luckily they measured up roughly identical to his others. I believe their free shipping to the US threshold is like $200, unsure if that is USD or CDN

Kind of excited. The box of goodies from Canada is supposed to arrive today, its all for my kid, but from a vicarious living perspective Im curious. One if the cool things about recent Yonex bags is that on the bottom, the part everyone sees when you carry a bag, there is some sort of colirful design on the bottom along with the big logo. Im betting on a red and blue plaid-ish thing going on. Admitedly superficial, but kinda cool nonetheless.

It was very tempting to get some Yonex clothes you can't find anywhere in America and at decent prices too, but I just ordered the percept bag. UPS says the delivery date is the 1st, but hopefully it comes sooner.

Im in the Seattle area, which is close to Vancouver, so stuff comes to us pretty quickly.

Their primary focus is badminton, so it is kind of hit or miss on tennis specific clothing, although sometimes you get lucky on t shirts and they usually have shorts

Percept bag, huh? Thats a cool looking bag. My kid’s current racquets are the Vcore 95, which I kind of see as a gateway drug into something in the Percept line, most likely the 97D as he values the kinds of things that frame is made to do and he is big and strong enough to handle a frame like that.

sent an order to Yuma yesterday.. and today it ships to Bay Area Cali. due to Arrive Monday Jan. 29th..
excellent service and fast shipping.

getting some new Yonex shorts and tops..along with the new 2024 Lg backpack.

Nice. My kid’s red bag just showed up here, I took it out of the box and I like what I can see through the plastic, but its his bag so the plastic stays on til he gets home. Also got a couple of Yonex hats, a navy blue Yonex hoodie, and a couple of two packs of the red and blue Yonex dampeners that you never see in the US. Everything but the bag is waiting for his birthday along with some Australian Open swag I got elsewhere.

The kid finally got the bag out of the plastic and he really likes it. Moved his stuff into it immediately. Can confirm that it is plaid-ish on the bottom of the bag.

I have one. My son received his 9 pack and has been using it for a couple of weeks. He got the red one. High quality, very roomy, the climate controled pocket easily holds his four frames, could maybe hold a couple more.

The rest of the pockets could easily hold enough stuff for an out of town weekend tournament depending on how much garbage one likes to haul around. The color is nice, and the design on the bottom is nice without being as visually confusing as the outgoing midel’s.

My personal impression of the Expert Series bags is that they are generally made and sold for badminton players, but that if a tennis player liked one of them, there is likely no reason the bags couldnt be used for tennis. But I guess, more broadly, that could be said about any racquet bags.

Okay I figured so—seems like only badminton shops carry them. I was looking at the Expert tournament duffle, it seems slightly more narrow than normal tournament duffle. have messaged a shop to see if it can fit a 3 rackets plus gear.

Any updates? I'm interested in the active duffels and was wondering if you had luck with follow-up.

You know if you like duffels there is a Yonex bag called the Wide Open that I saw on the Yumo site that holds like 4 racquets plus a lot of other stuff if thats what floats your boat. Its a cool bag. I would have bought this bag in a heartbeat back in the day.

So I actually am interested in that bag, but I haven't been able to find any reviews on it. It also looks pretty dang bulky... Which is what kind of pushed me towards looking at the GEAU axiom duffle bag, or the ADVtennis pro bag.

Honestly, the bag prices are ridiculous and I can't really justify the purchase at that price lol.

there are a few posts on reddit that show pictures of the wide open bag, but from badminton players, that show it filled up etc.

Shop stated 2 rackets would probably fit. the expert tournament seems like it fits less than the pro tournament/active ....for tennis at least

You really cant go wring with any of the bags you just referenced if you can get past the prices, which is increasingly difficult to do.
Yeah...but the price is just about 4 to 5 times more than I've spent on any bag ever. At that cost o could get another stick.

You could be a true hard core badass and just take one of your frames and stick the handle through the throats of all the others and carry them around that way and have a random, non branded backpack or other bag to put your essentials in. I made it through four years of college tennis doing that. And no, I do not think I’m a badass. It was just a logical, functional, and cheap way to solve a problem when I had no money.

This is the way. If your Opponent does this and doesn’t even bring a water bottle you are done for

It is the way. First time a guy walked on to a court like this in a tournament against my son, he admitted later it was slightly intimidating and one more thing he had to contend with psychologically. The kid won, but he was a bit rattled at first. It seems stupid, but gamesmanship is part of the sport.

Best player I know doesn’t have a bag, just walks onto the court with one racquet and a can of balls. Takes his phone, wallet, keys out of his pocket, opens the can and rips incredible forehands all day. It’s a flex.
