New Gaucho Site/Strings

I am currently playing with some of the new Gaucho natural gut strings. I am enjoying this gut. They are using high grade raw materials and utilizing new capital equipment to produce a more durable, better performing value priced natural gut.
My current string, the 16g. "Gaucho Classic", is a redesigned version of the original. It has a higher quality look and feel. Gauge consistency seems more consistent. I have had the current string job in use for several weeks and playability is also remaining steady. I like this string.

Gaucho has a new website: http://www.gauchostrings.com/index.html
They are changing their business model. In the future they plan to sell only through retailers, but for the present we can still order direct from the Gaucho guys. Just email them at info@gauchostrings.com to order.

I tried the new string out about 2 weeks ago. I emailed Gaucho to see what they had in stock and they mentioned their new string was in. Initial thoughts- gauge was consistent, unlike before where you had some parts of the string 16G and yet other parts 15G!! Other thing I noticed is that the string is quite soft, so I had to be careful when stringing so as to not flatten the string with my clamps- I tested my clamps on the end of the string to see if it was a secure fit that wasn't too tight.
Ball pocketing was really nice and the strings have held up well now for 2 weeks with about 16 hours of play on a full bed (this is my main frame, also have a hybrid set-up with Gaucho in mains and black magic in crosses). I strung the frame at 58 pounds which is about 4 pounds below their max string tension so I didn't have any issues. The cost for the new string was a little bit higher though :(

Wow. 21g (0.75mm) badminton string.

I wonder how accurate those numbers are. The 1.25mm could be fun.

It feels nice. I can see a difference on volleys putting B.M. in the frame- volleys are better in the hybrid setup vs full bed for me. You still get the other great characteristics of the gut in the mains. I would recommend the 16G black magic instead of the 17G as the 17G will cut through the gut in a shorter time. I get 15+ hours on this set-up with moderate (power) hitting.
