NFL 2021-2022

That was quite the epic choke by KC. All started with that end of half sequence of a long Cincy TD because of sh**ty tackling, then not getting the FG.

Welp, the California Dreamin’ game won’t come down to the final snap.

Who didn’t have a Cincy/LAR SB?!

Glad to see the Bengals back in the Super Bowl. Hopefully the Super Bowl will be as exciting as these playoff games have been....and the Bengals beat the Rams 34-32 on a last second 54 yard field goal! :)

One new, one old team to the 2022! Ram where their most recently of the two teams to repeat getting into the SB again. I think the Bengal's last appears was in the 1980s?

Alvin Karama got in trouble in LV just before Pro Bowl. Him and his entourage(4 guys) beat up a young guy and got charge with battery, a felon. If convicted, 1-5 year sentence in prison. Out on $5K bail. Karama got an extension for $44 million with $34 million guaranteed from the Saints in 2020. LOL! I think it is a 4 year extension. Was no “Saint!”

Daushuan Watson, what a lucky QB! Everyone is demanding his services now and he gets to choose the teams he wants to play for too!
At the mistake by-the-lake?

I don’t follow NFL but praying for that kids safety.

I also think it’s… pretty shocking the NFL wanted to continue on playing when a man’s life may have just ended on the field.

There was no rule book for that. Think the game officials did what they normally do after a long injury, then the coaches stepped in & pulled their teams.

Eerie parallel to Ryan Shazier’s career ending injury…a late season MNF in Cincinnati after making a tackle. He survived and there wasn’t a need for CPR on the field but neither play was a tremendously high-speed collision. Pittsburgh players had heavy hearts that night but played on. This is quite a lot more of a black cloud hanging over the Buffalo locker room so I don’t blame them for requesting the game to be halted.

I used to love the Niners but at this point football is morally indefensible
The players are getting bigger, stronger, and faster every year. It seems inevitable there will be horrific life threatening injuries. There are less children taking it up so maybe it just fizzles out although maybe not soon enough.
He is certainly in my thoughts.

Read where one doctor thinks that in making the tackle , Hamlin took a hard helmet hit to the upper chest from the Bengal ballcarrier. This happened at the precise time the heart muscle was recharging, and caused cardiac arrest. Similar to baseball if taking a fastball to the chest. Unconfirmed, but read Hamlin has been intibated and in critical condition.

The game being called off/suspended reminds me of what happened to pro wrestler Owen Hart, but just the opposite. The guy was in a wire harness being lowered to the ring 120 feet below. The harness failed and Owen fell to his death in front of thousands of fans. Owner Vince McMahon continued with the program. Don't get any colder than that.

Just had a conversation before Xmas about this with my Bro-in-law. He was looking to bring flag football to town since many schools no longer have enough players for a traditional team. Actually saw 2-3 yo girls playing flag football in a dome. Expensive and hard to find facilities now. Indoor soccer and volley too.

This is the most informative bit of analysis that I have found after scouring the ‘net for someone with experience in trauma to explain the possibles in what happened to Damar Hamlin tonight and what possible outcomes are ahead of this wonderful man cut down in his prime:

Once before the first punch of a fight was a kick to the chest. The guy went down and ended up dying. Several people were charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The one fact that continues to perplex trauma experts is the frequency of a hard projectile (hockey puck, baseball/cricket ball) being the cause for enough shock to interrupt the cardio system’s electrical “wiring.” None of the experts have ever witnessed an episode where a human has launched himself into that dangerous realm of interrupting our most basic electrical commands.

Hopefully #3 Hamlin recovers and it’s not an autopsy that reveals the true cause of his collapse. He very well may have carried a preexisting condition onto the field in Cincinnati that left him vulnerable to ramifications from a fairly low level of bodily contact when he tackled the Bengal receiver Higgins.

The NFL is not rigged, there is no script. However. Tonight showed just how easy it is for the officials to give the "favored" team enough advantages to raise the odds of the desired outcome.

A re-do, seriously? haha

That was definitely odd, but after the whole series, they still punted from close to the same place. That late hit was the right call though.

And I’m a UT fan, where Ossai went.

Seemed to me like Bengals offensive line was getting away with a lot of holds also. Although from what I remember there was apparently a memo or something about this a few years ago and the calls for holding went down significantly.

Thinking either team would get murdered next week though. Bengals would need a body bag for Burrow. Chiefs seem pretty depleted on offense also so dunno what they're going to do.

Looked like the Bengals would win about half way through the 4th, but all in all I thought the better team won, as hobbled as they were. Until Cincy can figure out how not to give KC a double digit lead at some point in every game they play, they’ll lose their fair share. They’re tough and resilient and Burrow is pinpoint accurate, but they need to make O-line improvements to win the SB. Which I believe they will at some point.

I like Philly in the SB though. If the pass rush gets to Mahomes it’s game over. A lot like what the Bucs did a couple years ago. But it should be interesting because Mahomes even with an ankle sprain is by far the best QB the Eagles have faced in a long while, considering the NFC title game was an embarrassment after Purdy was injured.
