He played really well. Looked incredibly sharp for someone who had not played a tournament in a few weeks. Was going after the forehand, and served pretty well. Handled the quickness of the surface ok, having only played on what, slowish hc and clay this yr?

the big test is how he handles big hitters on this surface. like Delpo or such.

there are no volleyers, or all courters on his half of the draw until the final so i don't see much of a test for him unless he plays someone who is hitting through the court more...

will be interesting to see how much he comes into the court. i think he should. he's not a bad volleyer and is super fit.

I still think Federer, or someone from that side of the draw will take it. It's best of three on a fast(ish) outdoor (can be windy sometimes) court and sometimes Djokovic can have a slow start.

The final has the potential to be a lot of fun imo.

Yet before many said he won't win another GS and would never become Number 1 again.

He proved many guys wrong....and he will prove it again and again that he still has it.

This year It would be a tough ask to be number 1.....still has a chance next year. As long as he is in the top 5....he can make a run for it.
