6.0 85 or 6.0 95?

If 95, I highly recommend Wilson Reaction @ 62. One of my all-time favorite racquet-string-tension combinations ! :D

Keifers are you still using your ps original 95? I abandoned mine a while ago because it was too light and unstable, also i never could really adapt to the original on the two hand backhand because whenever i hit slighty near the top the power would drop so much.

I have used the best guts and mutlies ect, I recomend Gosen micro.

It is dirt cheep but it felt better than NXT tour, max and regular, better than biphase, better than nrg2 ect.

It has the right combo, try it get the 17g or 16g super

Oh and it is only $4.75 or something, you can't shy away from this string especially if you string yourself.

Yep! I use the Gosen Sheep Micro on most of my racquets including the PS 85.....it's very inexpensive and gives some nice pop.

La Bomba,
I still have my 95 but have been focusing on some other sticks recently -- PS 85 (3 different ones), Yonnie RQ 7 Tour, M Speed 105.

With its lower swingweight and head lightness, I can understand it would feel too light and unstable to you. And the drop in power in the upper part of the hoop is definitely a characteristic of this racquet.

Have you tried adding some weight in the hoop? I would if I were having the problems you talked about.

For my game, though, it's a great racquet. I don't think I'll ever be selling this one.

Cheers.

the 85 model
I'm still playing around with strings for my 85s. Last weekend, I hit a bit with a friend's 85 strung with NXT (original) @ 56. Felt very good, and I've ordered some NXT and will try it next.

Another friend, who knows quite a lot about racquets and strings, says he's really liked NXT @ 60M/57C, 2-piece stringing. Says the lower tension in the crosses helped the frame pocket the ball better.

Strings I haven't liked in my 85:

Reaction 17 @ 56
NRG2 18 @ 57

Gosen pockets like NXT but does not move around like that, and has a more controlled response. $5.00 you can't go wrong, if you don't like it I will pay for it LOL

Should I email you my address for a cashier's check, or do you want to pay by paypal?

I will send you the used string after I cut it from my racuqet.

I'm stringing up my two new beauties tonight

One with VS tonic 16/Gosen OG 16 at 62lbs (like my nCode 90, for comparison) and one with Gosen OG 16 only. We'll see. In the nCode, the hybrid has pop, feel, and liveliness. Reports of muted feel are not even close-- this setup really sings. The nCode 90 with all Gosen OG 16 is really muted, though. I love the OG strings and will try the 17g next (thanks for the recommendation and encouragement, Jackson) and will report.

I tried my Prostaff Original 6.0 85 with Babolat VS Natural Gut 17 at a tension of 65lb....can't begin to tell how much power, control and feel that had.
However, it lasted about 2 weeks (4 x 2hr matches) and then frayed and snapped.

I always string with Babolat 17 at 60. I tried 16, and it was awful. It's no surprise that Sampras used 18 gauge at high tension. Thinner gut definitely plays a lot better. I've never tried 18, because I don't have the money to deal with breakage.
