Please Wilson! Realese the Sampras Protoype as soon as possible!

There have been some rumors about Pete Sampras working with Wilson to develop a new players racket. During the exhibition matches Pete Sampras played against Roger Federer he was playing with a racket painted to look like a Wilson nCode SixOne Tour 90 except for the last match when he was swinging an all black racket. This racket looked like the racket many players have been waiting for, including me, the Wilson ProStaff 6.0 90.

I think Wilson should call the racket Wilson kProStaff 6.0 because it looks like a Wilson ProStaff 6.0 Original with a 90 sq. inch head. I know that Pete Sampras himself prefer black rackets so it would be logical to make it black. But I think you should see that it is a Wilson racket from miles away so it should have the same colour scheme like the Wilson kBlade or the kBlade Tour but instead of orange the racket should be red. Then you have a new Wilson racket that Pete Sampras likes and that stands out from the crowd but still looks like the new line of Wilson rackets.

As a player on the Future tour I have big hopes on this racket and I really hope that Wilson will release the Sampras Prototype to the market as soon as possible. I remember when the nCode was released during the french Open in 2004 and now I pray for the Wilson kPro Staff 6.0 to be released during the 2008 French Open.

Who else want Wilson to release the racket as soon as possible?

You still dont know if they are actually going to relase it...

Well I'll be ready to grab a couple (at least) if/when they do.
I would prefer a more traditional PJ.
I'm guessing Wilson's new line (Ncode, K-Factor, ???) is due first thing in 2009 so maybe it'll go under this line with a new style of PJ.

I'd be very interested in the prototype if it has same 80/20 graphite and Kevlar mix as the PS 6.0 85/95. Otherwise, I'd pass.

Somebody has noticed that Wilson's marketing strategy go along with the results this year ?

They released the K technology with the flagship the K90 wield by Roger Federer.

As he dominated tennis, K90s and its K95 versions sold in huge quantities.

Now, they release the K Blade tour for the Australian open.

And the results ? Djokovic and Tsonga, both with KBlades ( PJs ) are in the final.

Result ? Huge KBlade sales. and Federer on the low down. It doesn't matter for Wilson, they are selling zillions of Kblades right now.

BUT.... It is rumored that a new 90 inches will be released by Wimbledon times.

I can suppose then that someone will win Wimbledon using the new Racket. Maybe Federer himself.

Then Wilson could say. Yes ! the new 90 racket is better than the K90, that is way Federer in a slump came back to win Wimbledon with it !

Your thoughts ?

Where did you read this?

I agree with the rest. Wilson is definitely benefiting from Djokovic's success with all of their KBlade sales.

Thank you for your interest. No word at present, as he is still demoing the racquet.

people keep saying that they can't wait for a true pro staff 6.0 90. what if it ends up feeling less like a ps 6.0 than the k90?

It sounds like conspiracy to me. Did Wilson pressure King Fed to lose to Djoker in the AO semi, so the new KBlade can sell like hotcake??? Make you wonder, doesn't it?

umm your an idiot, if he was paid well enough he would throw it. tell me if you were givin 1-4 million for a match would you throw it?

Personal insults? Real mature.

I can promise you, federer did not throw the AU. Throwing an exhibition against sampras? maybe.. a grand slam ... no.

To your question: That is simply a dump question. I am not rich, not a professional athlete, not close to breaking any records-- of course i would take that kind of money to throw a match. Federer is a world class athlete and a multimillionaire... a few mil would not make him throw a GS tourney.

Also 1-4 million would make him throw the match?? the prize money is $1,370,000 for the winner, and also him getting closer to Pete's record.

no it does not. Federer absolutely would not throw a match for wilson. That is absurd.

i dont think he was throwing the match but i felt there was a point in the match that Fed sensed that he could completely take Pete out really badly but he held back and let Pete back into it somewhat (if Fed had kept the killer instinct the entire match... i really think Fed could have beaten Pete really badly)

Like Federer really needs another million dollars? He's already got like $100 million. He's chasing records, trying to beat Sampras GS record. There's no way he's going to throw a GS match for money. Get real.
