Prince NXG, PS 6.0 85, Prince Diablo..which should I go for?

I need help!

I've been playing with the Prince NXG Mid for the last year and have been reasonably happy with the racquet. Lots of Topspin, reasonably stable and loads of control from the baseline. Serving and volleying just OK.

That was until I tried the PS 6.0 85...Great serving racquet. Amazing volleys. Amazing control. Really small sweet spot though.

I decided to carry on with my NXG but was a bit unhappy with the volleying serving aspect of the racquet.

Then I tried the Diablo...much stiffer than the nxg, great for serving and volleying. REALLY STABLE. But I'm finding it a little too powerful. Also I use a western forehand and I'm not sure the diablo is as whippy as the nxg which is useful on low forehands. I could put a poly in to control the racquet but I've been having mild elbow pains lately so...

Do I try and control the power of the diablo?
Carry on with the NXG? Maybe lead it up and lower tension to give stability/power on serves.
Or...just go with with the PS 6.0 85??

I know everyone loves the PS 6.0 85 and it is a nice racquet BUT the fact is noone really uses it in the pro game anymore. I am no pro but I play college tennis in the UK and hit with lower ranked pros so I would consider myself an advanced player.

PS. Sometimes I wish I had never found this forum because I would have just stuck with my nxg mid!!!

I would say stay away from the Diablo. That is the one racket that has an inherent problem for your game. The other two don't work quite as well as you'd like, but practice can fix both. You could try leading the NXG (I found that particularly helpful with my mp when I had it). I would say, though, just stick with the NXG and practice serves and volleys. I agree that that isn't where it shines, but you definitely can make it work there. I do think a lower tension would help, probably in the low-mid fifties (~53lbs). I do love the PS 85, but it won't do you much good if you can't consistantly hit the sweet spot. Again, you could just practice with it more and get used to it.

So here's the break-down:

Best option is keep the NXG and string it with a good feel string, work on serves and volleys.

Also a good option is go with the PS 85 and just adjust to it.

Don't switch to the Diablo. Not enough power is ok, but too much power isn't something you want to try to compensate for.

If you want to look at other mids that do S&V very well and won't require the spot-on form that the PS 6.0 95 does, consider looking at the racquets below...

- Yonex RDX Mid
- Yonex RDS 001 Mid (stiffer and a bit more pop than the RDX)
- Volkl DNX 10 Mid

These all S&V very well, and have really nice feel...
