Pure Strike 18x20 (old) vs 6.1 18x20?

Hey guys,

I heard that Wilson is bringing back the 6.1 18 x 20 racket with the new paint jobs. Will it play similar to the old pure strike with the 18x20 pattern? I played with the 6.1 95s previously and I went to the pure strike since I wanted more control and it was on sale at the moment.

Thanks!

The Six One 95 18x20 will play closer to the Pure Strike Tour. They both are fantastic frames with loads of power and nice control.

the reg pure strike was too light for my taste. i owned a pure strike tour and it was a fantastic frame. but like he mentioned, the 6.1 will be the better racquet IMO

The FST frames are super stiff so if you have any elbow or shoulder issues i would stray away from these. even if you don't have issues, i wouldn't want a frame thats 70+ RA stiffness. i would vote the pure strike.

I agree with this.

I had to customize my pure strike to up the swing weight a little bit. But I think I'll tinker with the weight and balance a little bit more since I want more plow with my shots.

I have it weighted up to 11.9 oz with lead on 2 and 10, on the handle and a TW leather grip.

Pure strike it is! I'm thinking that will be my main racket for play with syn gut, but for pennants singles i mght get out the wilson juice with the alu power strings. Served with that yesterday and got heaps of pop and spin, but as ive learnt the poly strings wont last much past 10 hrs play..
