I got to see Sam Querrey, Murphy Jenson, and the Bryan brothers play in Midland TX on Wednesday 09/15 for the Bryan’s farewell tour.

The Bryan’s were great as was Murphy Jenson (who took Jack Sock’s place since he was injured from the US Open). It was kid focused so you had a lot of the local high school and junior kids involved and played against them. Several times they had to hold hands with a little kid while they played and it was a lot of fun. They all played against Sam Querrey - who won all the sets (except for doubles). But Querrey was in a very cheerful and fun mood the entire time. He was laughing and looked to really be enjoying himself. I said “hi” to him and Bob Bryan and Sam seemed like he was content to sit and talk for awhile. All smiles.

So all in all it was a very good time and I have newfound respect for these guys. It was good to see a different side instead of “all business”.

2017 Wimby when he proved the ‘16 run wasn’t a fluke is my favorite American performance of the ‘10s. He had a great run, should be extremely proud of his career.

@TennisHound,

I was dropping my racquets off for restringing on Tuesday when a guy walks into the shop. The owner greets him as "Steve O" [at least, that's what I thought he said].

I look over and it vaguely resembles Stevie Johnson but not as tall or broad-shouldered as my perception on TV. But then he starts talking:

"Yeah, I have an exo to play in Texas against Mike and Bob." The owner asks "Are you playing with Sam?" He answers "Yeah. Mike & Bob have never lost an exo; we're like the Generals [referring to the team the Harlem Globetrotters always beat]."

Hmm...my Sherlock Holmesian deductive method stumbles into gear and I figure that must be Stevie Johnson.
