Question on tensioning on dropweight without clutch.

Hi,

I'm new to stringing and would like to know how to tension the string properly on my dropweight. Currently when i attempt to tension the string, the arm goes down all the way until it can go down no more instead of balancing horizontally.

Since my machine doesn't have a clutch system, how do I go about solving this problem?

what machine do you have?
it is not a clutch, or maybe not a rachet type machine like an X2....you may have to release the string from the gripper and re-set it again only shorter amount of string in the gripper. i guess. you sound like you may have a klippermate.

yep ^ . Pull the string down through the string jaws if its falling way below horizontal, release string if its too high.
